The 15th arrondissement is home to Paris’ national exhibition centre, the Parc des Expositions. Millions of people visit the centre each year to visit the regularly changing exhibitions. The Musee Pasteur is another huge attraction. Home to the great scientist for the last 7 years of his life, the museum has been changed little, and holds a great range of artefacts and instruments, and Pasteur’s body is buried under the ostentatious mosaic mausoleum in the museum grounds.
There are some wonderful green areas in Vaugirard in which to relax under the summer sun. The Jardin de l’Atlantique is a wonderful mix of trees, fountains and green areas suspended 18 metres above the railway. The Parc Georges Brassens is another marvellous park, within easy walking distance of the huge antiques market at Vanves and the Village Suisee, a collection of over 150 antique shops.
