There are a couple of excellent museums in the 5th arrondissement, including the Musee du Moyen Age, which contains a range of absolutely fascinating medieval art, the famous scientific Musee Curie and the less famous but equally enthralling Musee de l’Institut du Monde Arabe, providing a beautiful panorama of northern Paris from the rooftop.

During the long summer evenings, there are two absolute gems within the 5th arrondissement in which to spend your evenings. The huge botanical gardens of Jardin des Plantes are a delight in the summer, and even contain a small zoo and the Museum National d’Histoire Naturelle is a magnificent institution, with constantly updated exhibits and displays from important moments and discoveries from throughout the natural world. The Arenes de Lutece is an ancient Roman theatre, and the only remaining ruins of the Gallo-Roman era of Paris, and is free to visit.

The weather in Paris is quite unpredictable.
