Perfect hide-away

We have just returned from a trip to Australia, that ended in this apartment in Palm Cove, and I do not want to miss to share our experience with everyone looking at this webpage.
Prior to our vacation in Australia, we reviewed a lot of apartments and hotel rooms online, to find the right place to stay for the last 5 days of our 4-week vacation. And - we did!
The Amphora complex is beautiful, with a huge lagoon pool, whispering palms, a great restaurant (although we only went out for breakfast there, but it was really worth it) and just opposite the wonderful beach. Palm Cove itself definitely was the right choice as well - 40 minutes to Cairns by bus, that runs every half hour throughout the day, and hourly until late at night. Pick-ups for all tours directly there is well. It is really laid back there, nice restaurants and cafes, and 2 small supermarkets, all in easy walking distance.
The apartment is wonderful - very spacious, nice kitchen with all fittings you need, washing machine and dryer, and a really wonderful balcony overlooking the pool. We have spent great evenings sitting outside, listening to the rolling waves of the ocean and to the whispering of the palms in the wind. It has to be noted, that it is also nicely shielded from the wind, which is a good thing if you are travelling in a time with strong winds, like we have.
To conclude: it was definitely the right place to be, for a family with 2 children aged 8 and 9 - but certainly also for couples or friends without children.

Great trip!

Having never rented an apartment sight unseen, we were nervous about what we'd find when we arrived after 24 hours of travelling to Australia from Canada. We were not disappointed! Palm Cove is a small, quiet upscale area in a very beautiful location. We rented the studio part of the advertised apartment (one bedroom with some cooking facilities). The studio apartment had everything we needed to enjoy our stay for a reasonable price. The owners promptly responded to all our email questions and sent us a floor plan and some photos. We enjoyed watching the birdlife in the treelined street while we ate our breakfast on the balcony. It was a 5 min. meander through the property past the pool to reach the beach and the restaurant lined beachfront street. Many of the restaurants are highly acclaimed and offer fantastic dining experiences. There is a range of dining options as well as shops to purchase wine and food to prepare in the microwave in the room. We rented a car (at the airport) and found that all attractions (even cars) can be booked right at the hotel or on the beachfront with pickups at the hotel so we actually didn't need a car. (Tjabukai Aboriginal Centre, Kuranda, Cairns, rainforest trips, snorkeling/diving trips---hundreds of things to see and do). Parking is in an underground garage. We found the 3 levels of stairs up to the unit to be difficult with our luggage and would recommend good physical health for the stairs, especially in the heat. The area was absolutely safe, day or night. We had a great stay in a great country!

Thanks Florence, we had a great time in your appartment in Palm Cove.
The large appartment was immaculate, comfortable, well equipped, clean.
The balcony is huge and looks out over the pool - totally sheltered as well - no wind and we we sat out there til the early hours.
The hotel itself is on the beachfront and perfect location for all the restaurants and bars along the beach.
We organised trips from reception - no issues.

To conclude, great appartment, great hotel!! its pretty quiet in Palm cove - but if you're looking to hang out round the pool all day / chill on the beach, then go for a few drinks and an evening meal, then Palm cove is the place for you.

We'll definitely be returning!

Super Apartement in einer tollen Anlage

Ich war mit meiner Frau in diesem australischem "Winter" in Palm Cove. Wir hatten trotzdem jeden Tag über 30 Grad. Ich kann mich allen anderen nur anschließen, das Apartment ist toll und erfüllt einen 4-5 Sterne Standard.

Ich habe Fotos gemacht, die eigentlich mehr als Worte sagen. Die Fotos können von Florence (Eigentümerin) abgefordert werden. Florence ist - obwohl ich sie nie persönlich kennengelernt habe - nur Email - super nett und hilfsbereit. Ich würde immer wieder dort Urlaub machen... wenn's nur nicht am anderen Ende der Welt wäre :-(((

Palm Cove Hotel Style Room

My husband and I stayed at the Palm Cove Holiday apartment (we booked the hotel/studio not the full apartment) for a week in August. It was wonderful. The smaller room doesn't have the balcony overlooking the pool but I think it has a better view of the moutains behind Palm Cove which are teaming with parrots and cockatoos. It's in a great location, you can walk just across the street to the beach or just a few feet to several nice resturants or take a short and scenic drive to Port Douglas or a bit farther to Daintree and Cape Tribulation. The room itself was very nice, with a great tub and plenty of space. My only qualm was the bed which is a king size bed but is two matresses pushed togather that makes it hard to snuggle (you can only tell when you're laying in the middle of the bed), but once we got used to that, it was fantastic. The resort is beautiful, the pool is fantastic and the grounds are beautifully kept. For the price and the quality of the room and resort, I would say this is the best deal in Palm Cove! Thank you!
