Our Whale Beach house is a comfortable family home where you can relax to the sound of the surf . Opposite the beach,driving distance to Manly (35minutes) and less than 1 hour to the city. You can just sun bathe on the deck or avail yourself of the many different activities that are available in the area. The front balcony with a beautiful view of the beach is about 25sq meters. There is also a back terrace area with BBQ pit and a huge private bush backyard that backs onto the adjoining reserve. Whale beach and Palm Beach are exclusive holiday areas where many Sydney siders have their second homes. There are very few hotels and no camping grounds in the vicinity. There are, however, numerous coffee spots around, especially in Avalon where you can enjoy the village atmosphere (5 minute drive). There is a large supermarket for all your shopping needs. There are wonderful cosy cafes and a great variety of eateries from sushi bars up to the 5 star Jonahs restaurant at Whale Beach.

Notes to the rental rates

• Deposit/Bond of a non refundable 25% required at time of booking. Payment via Western Union at the post office, bank deposit, cheque or paypal. Full payment to be paid 6 weeks prior to your arrival. This is non refundable.
  The 25% Deposit/Bond will be refunded at the completion of the rental period, after house inspection by the owners. Usually within 14 days unless there is any damage which will then be deducted from the bond and any remainder refunded or any extras invoiced to the renter.
  
• Telephone is available for local calls only and will not be charged for if under $5.00 ( local calls are 25 cents each).An itemised checklist of house contents is at the house in a folder along with information about the running of the house and local activities available in the area.

The Beach

About a five minute walk down the stairs to the beach. Whale Beach is a beautiful stretch of beach between two rocky headlands It is popular with locals, families, surfers and fishermen. At the southern end is a 25 metre rock pool for swimming laps with showers and toilets nearby.During the summer and holidays there are life savers patrolling the beach and encouraging people to swim between the flags. There is also a shaded small park with swings and BBQ facilities.

Activities in the area

Bush Walking: From Palm Beach (5 minute drive from Whale), also know as 'Summer Bay' from TV series Home and Away. Nice walk to lighthouse or take the ferry to The Basin. Golf:Palm Beach Golf Club or Avalon (5minute drive south of Whale Beach) Surfing: Learn to Surf courses available and great surfing at Palm and Whale beach. Tennis: Courts available for hire. Avalon Movie theatre. Boat hire at Pittwater for fishing or putting around. Ferries to the Basin and Mackeral Beach and further up the coast. Sea Plane leaves from palm to Sydney or further up the coast. Fishing from the headland at Whale, Palm or off the Wharf.

Barrenjoey Peninsular

Whale Beach and neighbouring Palm Beach form part of the beautiful Barrenjoey peninsular, the most northerly area of Sydney. To the east of the peninsular is the Pacific Ocean, to the west the mouth of the Hawksberry river and Kurringah National Park. There's a great bush walk that takes you to the top of Barrenjoey Heads, with a stunning panoramic view of the entire area.
