Excellent self catering apartments in the beautiful spa town of Bad Ischl, right in the heart of the lakes and mountains of Austria's Salzkammergut. This is a great holiday location at any time of the year, with plenty to see and do - walking, cycling, golf, skiing, water sports & sightseeing in Salzburg and Vienna. Haus Strutzenberger is a 'home away from home'. Our apartments are comfortable and family friendly. Located in a quiet residential area, we are just 10 minutes walk from the centre of Bad Ischl. Plenty of good restaurants nearby. Relax and just enjoy the views from the balcony or the garden - a real break from the stress of everyday life ! We offer guests a friendly and warm welcome to our home in Austria. As we live on site we are always available for help and assistance, so you can get the most from your holiday. New kitchen with dishwasher, ceramic hob,and oven with integrated microwave.The apartment has a bed which folds into the wall for more space during the day. An optional single bed settee or cot can be provided in this apartment at no extra cost.

Bad Ischl is in the heart of the Salzkammergut. A spa town, it was once the summer retreat of the Austrian Royal family. It has a good range of restaurants, bars and shops including the world famous Zauners Konditorei. The town is a popular tourist destination, all year round, as it is surrounded by the most beautiful lakes and mountains. There is great walking and cycling all around on miles of marked paths.The golf course is just 10 minutes away. There are festivals and events throughout the year. In July and August there are daily concerts in the town. In winter there is easy access to a wide range of skiing. Katrinalm ski mountain is 10 minutes from our apartments. Dachstein-West ski area, Postalm and the free ride area of Dachstein Krippenstein can all be reached by car ( about 25 minutes) or free ski bus in around an hour. For non-skiers the town boasts an excellent thermal bath facility, with a range of beauty therapies

A range of foodstuffs can be ordered to be delivered to you at the start of your holiday. We try to make travelling with children as easy as possible. We have a cot, high chair and changing mat available on request. Disposable nappies can be ordered in advance and will be in your apartment on arrival. If there is anything else you need, let us know and we will do our best to arrange it. We offer airport transfers from Salzburg and Linz airports. Please contact us for details. Ski-ing including Weekend Ski-ing
Bad Ischl is ideally situated to access a range of ski areas. Ski in Bad Ischl on the Katrinalm less than 10 minutes from the apartment. We run a daily transfer service to the major ski area of Dachstein West( 25 minutes away) or you can take the free ski bus (which runs from the centre of Bad Ischl, about 1 hour). The area has a good snow record and the ski areas are well served with lifts and mountain restaurants. For complete beginners or those of a nervous disposition try a day at Postalm, about 25 minutes away by car. Want something a little more adventurous? - the Dachstein Krippenstein free ride area offers pisted and off piste runs, high above Lake Halstatt( about 30 minutes by car). Ski rental and ski school can be arranged in Bad Ischl or at the main resorts. Only got a weekend to ski ?- no problem! Winter Activities
Bad Ischl and its surrounding area has a lot to offer in winter, even if skiing is not for you. The thermal baths offer a wide range of spa and beauty treatments and are located about 10 minutes walk from the apartments. Bad Ischl has a good variety of restaurants, bars and shops. The Kurhaus concert venue holds regular concerts. In the surrounding area there are cleared winter walks, toboggan runs and winter sleigh rides. One hour's drive away is the city of Salzburg, the birthplace of Mozart and home each summer to the Salzburg Festival. The lakes of St Wolfgang, Fuschl and Bad Ausee are beautiful in winter and make an excellent visit. The cities of Vienna, Graz and Southern Bavaria are all within a few hours’ drive.
Summer holidays
In the heart of the Salzkammergut, Bad Ischl makes a wonderful summer holiday location. Close to the mountains for walking and cycling, the town has a great deal to offer visitors. The Kurhaus is home to the annual Lehar Festival in August, but has a regular programme of concerts and events throughout the year. A visit to the Kaiservilla gives an insight into the age when Bad Ischl was the summer retreat for the Austrian Royal family. A short drive away is Lake Wolfgang, a beautiful clear lake which is excellent for swimming and water skiing. For the less energetic there are regular ferries across the lake to St Wolfgang, home of the famous White Horse Inn. Other places of interest include Hallstatt and the salt mines, which is a UNESCO World Heritage site, the Ice Caves at Obertraunand the picturesque villages of the region. Guided tours to Salzburg or Vienna can be arranged on request.

Golf Information:
There is an excellent 18 hole golf course a short drive from our apartments. It has a full club house with golf shop in a modern clubhouse. The Franz Laimer Indoor and Outdoor golf training centre is next to the golf course. We can assist with booking tee times and arranging transfers to and from the course. The club welcomes visitors! There are also golf courses at Fuschl , Bad Ausee and two at Mondsee ( all about 45 minutes away by car). The Franz Laimer Golf Training Centre is open throughout the year.
