Haus Hislop, built between 2005/06 has 4 luxurious apartments with modern facilities. The house is situated in the heart of Inneralpbach with restaurants, hotels and bars in the immediate vicinity. It has wonderful mountain views, apartments 2, 3 and 4 with its own balcony. In the Winter the nearest lift is 3 minutes walk and the new gondola is 5 minutes walk. In Spring, Summer and Autumn the ideal starting point for beautiful walks and bike tours.

Apartment 4. On the 1st floor with its own balcony, has superb mountain views of the Gratlspitz and Wiedersberger Horn. Tastefully decorated with modern facilities including TV, DVD player, dishwasher, microwave and coffee machine. This apartment also receives sun later in the day on the sun terrace.

  • Apartment prices - based on 2 people, per week. The third and the fourth person are 70 Euros each.
    Penthouse prices – based on 4 people, per week. The fifth to the tenth person are 100 Euros each.

    Fixed price OR full occupancy at Christmas and New Year. 4 people in each apartment - 595 + 70 + 70 = 735 Euros. 10 people in The Penthouse 1,190 + 600 = 1,790 Euros. Of course it would be fine to have less people but the price is same.
    Tourist tax 2 Euros per night.
    Cleaning fee 20 for an apartment and 40 for the penthouse.
  • No bookings for less than a week in winter high season. Short breaks and long weekends available throughout most of the year.
    I would require a deposit of 150 Euros for an apartment) or 300 Euros for the penthouse. This is a refundable deposit and is taken off the payment due whilst you are here. I would send you my bank details to make an international transfer.

Mountains and nature combine to form the centre of an enjoyable holiday. Over 900km of well marked walking and hiking paths await the mountain lover. Climb/ hike any degree of difficulty or mountain bike the powerful inspirational world. Discover the radiant mountain backdrop of the Rofan, the Wiedersberger Horn and Gratlpitz. 360 degree beautiful panoramic views.

The natural deep blue lakes in the area are perfect for swimming, boating, diving, splashing around or just relaxing. The more adventurous will find a lot of action with wild water swimming, tubing, rafting and kayaking in the gorges and canyons of the rushing mountain streams and rivers.

Also paragliding in Kramsach, about 20 mins away. All year round skiing and snowboarding at the glacier in Hintertux, about an hour away. Horse riding in Kramsach, about 15 mins. Hot air ballooning in St Johann, about 45 mins. Numerous water parks and adventure play grounds and parks 20 mins. One of my favourite things is flower picking in the lush meadows. A large concrete skate park 'The Cradle' in Brixlegg 15 mins away that is another beauty. One of the best in Europe. Big smooth hips, spines, and corners will let you fly. This park also features the worlds first 'cradle'. It's a capsule that's over vert at the end of a bowl.

Great location, accommodation and hostess!

We stayed in Apartment 4 in October 2009. Although “between seasons” we found plenty to explore and had the novelty of unexpected snow for much of our week.

The apartment is great – clean and comfortable with all mod cons (including an excellent coffee machine!) and wonderful views over the mountains from the balcony.

Claire is a wonderfully friendly, open Yorkshire lass who makes you welcome even before you have arrived! She got us to email a shopping list, so our fridge was stocked with the essentials when we arrived. She provided loads of practical information including an events guide for the week of our stay. Her web site is also a useful source of information (Google “Haus Hislop”). On arrival you are greeted and welcomed like a long lost friend. Thereafter she was always on hand for any help or information we needed, with plenty of suggestions on interesting places to visit.

Some practical things which may be of interest:

We flew to Salzburg and hired a car. Flight times meant our journey to Alpbach (about 85 miles) was in the dark but the airport is on the west side of the city, so it was fairly straightforward to get on the right road. Road numbering in Austria is still a mystery to me. Motorways seem to have at least 3 different numbers, so this method of identification did not work well. Claire provided a useful description of how to find Haus Hislop, but we found a satnav beneficial, also for going out and about during the week. We were led to believe Austrian motorways have a toll system, but we saw no sign of this and paid nothing. Also crossing into Germany and back into Austria isn't noticeable at all.

The poor Euro exchange rate means some things are expensive, but we found food, eating out and petrol generally on a par with the UK.

The restaurant just up the road – Zirmalm – is excellent. It's reasonably priced with great food and atmosphere. An English menu is available and we got a Schnapps on the house at the end of each meal!

The nearest supermarket is Spar in Alpbach, just a couple of miles down the mountain. It's quite small, but fine for everything you will need. Alpbach also has a post office, tourist information etc.

If you like white wine, try the local “Gruner Weltliner”, a grape we had not come across before. It's only grown in Austria and the Czech Republic and the Austrians seem to keep most of it to themselves, with good reason!

A perfect place to stay

Well! A relaxing week in Alpbach in the Tyrolian Alps, Austria was just what was needed! It was the second week in June. My wife and I took the (early) Channel Tunnel to Calais. First time for me and certainly not the last! Only 10hours drive from Calais through Belgium, Netherlands and Germany (I just LOVE German and Austrian drivers, on the autobahns they move over at the first opportunity and do precisely what is expected)!

Alpbach is a beautiful unspoilt alpine village off the beaten track between Innsbruch and Kuffstein. The local architecture is simply superb, a unique variation on the Austrian theme, fixed by local statute.

There is so much to do, not just skiing and snowboarding in winter. Summer has a wonderful climate, forest walks, lakeside picnics and swimming, waterfalls and gorges, mediaeval towns, hill walking and climbing and much more.

For the more adventurous there is white water rafting and of course paragliding!! I took my 'wing' and the nearby Weidersberghorn has gondola from Alpbach (only a mile from the apartment) which lifts to 1850m. As well as soaring the ridges, there is a 900metre 'top to bottom' with a large landing field suitably next to a bar in the town. There are more than a dozen sites within about 20 miles, so you can fly in almost all wind directions.

However, the apartment we stayed in merits the best of accolades. Haus Hislop is in Inner Alpbach with beautiful views over the valley. A 5-apartment house, built in 2006 by Claire is modern, well furnished and equipped, with secure garage space for 4 cars. 4 of the apartments are for rent (Claire lives in the fifth). There is an enormous luxury penthouse apartment that could sleep up to 10 people! If you are a winter sport fan, you can ski out and catching the right runs ski right back in again! The Inner Alpbach skilift is only a few hundred metres away. There are buses a few hundred metres away.

Claire hails from Yorkshire, a warm, bright, friendly, knowledgeable hostess, for whom nothing seems too much trouble. She is making a new life in a beautiful location and you will find, richly deserves the stream of good reviews in her visitor book.

Give Claire a call or drop her an email, you will not regret it. A week or two spent here wonderfully relaxes and refreshes you. We will be back!

A Perfect Place to Stay

We stayed at Haus Hislop over Easter 2008. 2 adults and 2 children ages 12 and 8. The kids first skiing holiday.
Our flight was delayed which meant we were going to arrive at H.H. after 11pm. Our hostess, Claire had given gave us her mobile so we could text her to warn her. We arrived at H.H. to find she had left the garage open so we could drive straight in and she was there waiting for us. She gave us a full tour of apartment and all the facilities, of which there are many.
The apartments were extremely clean and well furnished and decorated, the coffee machine fantastic and the heated floor in the bathroom - wow!
The apartment was never cold and Claire was always on hand to help with advice on apartment or anything in the resort. Advice that is definitely needed when it comes to the 7 recycling bins! She even got the shopping in for us when we got there so we could have something to eat before we could get to the shops on our second day. Although Speck? hmm jurys out on that one!
Claire, you deserve every success with H.H. and all of us would love to come back again.
I would recommend H.H. to everyone be it skiing in the winter or action in the summer.
