Half timber traditional Tirolean family house, in a beautiful setting just a very short stroll from the village centre (1 minute!) and the ski lifts (5 minutes max in boots!). There is a lovely garden, great views and a very warm atmosphere. The house has been the subject of sympathetic restoration and ongoing renovation programme over the last few years. For 2009 there is a new beautiful luxury family bathroom upstairs, a new SAUNA and a new ski drying/store room. The One Bedroom Garden Flat sleeps up to 5 people, was totally refurbished in 2005 and is appointed to a very high standard with wooden floors, modern kitchen, luxury bathroom with underfloor heating. This is a large, spacious and comfortable family home set over 3 floors (ground, first and second) plus full laundry facilities in the basement. There are two double bedrooms, one twin bedroom (which can be made up as a double) one fabulous quad bedroom and a double sofabed in the sitting room. There has been extensive refurbishment and remodelling work carried out for the 2009/10 ski season onwards including the installation of a SAUNA, a new luxury family bathroom with separate walk-in shower, a new separate wc and a fully equipped ski store with heating for clothes drying and a hot air boot drying system.

Winter - Skiing: The house is just a short stroll from the first lift of the Ski Welt system - over 100 lifts and 250km skiing. It is literally across the road and past the small local car park. For most of the season you can ski right back to the house.

Ski: Ski Welt is Austria's largest inter-linked ski area, which includes Going, Ellmau, Soll, Itter, Westendorf & Brixen. Over 250km of skiing and 100 lifts. Most of the area is well served by cannon for artificial snow coverage and it all starts right across the road from our house! You would be hard pressed to find a better ski house location in this area. Serious ski-safari folk can also get a vanderpass to include the whole Kitzbuhel ski region as well, accessible by car, bus or interlinked ski-lift.

Golf: There are at least 14 golf courses within 1 hours drive of the house. The nearest is in Ellmau, which includes a driving range, walkable from the house or a 2 minute drive.

The house was wonderful, a real home from home and we all instantly fell in love with it. This was our first time to Going and The SkiWelt and we were not disappointed. We enjoyed ourselves so much that on our return home we instantly booked again for next year. What a great find !

What a special place!

I'd like to keep this place a secret as it really has something special - the village, the people, the ski instructors and of course the wonderful house - but that wouldn't be very nice!! We had a full house (12) but once we returned from the slopes we would all settle into the spacious, cosy, warm house for the evening. I could have stayed there forever!!! This is my second time staying in Dorf 30 and to be honest I can't wait to return again! Thank you for creating such a warm, cosy get away and providing such an open and honest system in your house. Thank you Joe and family

Magical winter wonderland

We have just returned from our first family winter holiday experience. Joe the owner was a dream to book with and we arrived tentatively in Going looking for the chalet...our jaws dropped when we saw it and iots surroundings - truly beautiful. Words cannot describe what a wonderful holiday we have just had in every way and my only regret is we didnt stay longer. The chalet is beautful - magical and such a home from home - we miss it terribly now! The children's room in the eaves has to be seen to be believed - they truly thought they were in a fairytale! As a family we went not to ski necessarily but just to enjoy the snow but in the end as it was so convenient and nearby the whole family decided to go to ski school..what fun they all had and the medal ceremony at the end was so uplifting! We had an amazing evening speeding at goodness knows what speed down the nearby toboggan run which was the best fun we've had in ages as a family and had a magical horse and sleigh ride around the beautiful village of Going - everything is there that you need for a winter or summer holiday and we definately found a little piece of heaven! Try not to spread the word too much - we want to keep it for ourselves - only joking - tell everyone....shout it from the rooftops! Memories we will treasure forever. Emma and family Jan 08

The house for victory

The choice of the place for our stay during EURO2008 was simple - between Innsbruck and Salzburg, where Russia played. As I was responcible for lodging, I was really worried what would the place look like and how my friends like it.

The expectations were exceeded many times. Everybody liked the house, the village, the duck in the restorant nearby, the sound of the river at night, the patience of nabours when we returned at night from the Game.

My recomendation - do not miss the opportunity to see Going in summer, my goal now is to get there at winter.

Tirolean Farmhouse Going

I took a chance this year and organised our annual lads golf holiday in Austria having spent many happy years on the Spanish Coast. The accomadation is very good with all the facilities you need. The setting is peaceful but with reasonable access to both local bars and restuarants and more choice in nearby Ellmau and Kitzbhull so there should be something to suit all tastes.

We also found the locals very welcoming despite our limited grasp of German. As a summer visitor they all seemed very pleased to see us and if you are into golf then the choice in this area and the quality of the courses takes some beating (I have have played a LOT of golf overseas)

I do not ski but the sheer amount of ski lifts within a few miles suggests this is also a great winter venue.
