The property is a warm, comfortable home situated in the popular mountain resort of Kimberley, British Columbia in the heart of the Canadian Rockies. It consists of 3 units (sleeping 6, 4 & 2) which can be rented in any combination. The top two units 991 and 991a were completely refurbished and refurnished in 2005 and provide high quality accommodation for families or groups of friends including wood-burning fireplace and hot tub on a raised deck with spectacular views of both mountains and valley. The property offers superb skiing access (100 yards from the piste with ski in/out access) and is only minutes from some of the best golf in Canada including the famous Trickle Creek course less than 5 minutes drive away. The property has a carport. Kimberley is a friendly, family town. Local facilities are good. Storage for skis and golf clubs is available. 918 is less luxurious. 991a and 918 must be rented as a whole unit with 991 to have access to hot tub and fireplace.

991 Dewdney Way is the largest and most luxurious unit on the property, containing 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, dining room, living room, kitchen, large storage area (for ski/golf equipment) on 2 floors with bedrooms upstairs. The living room downstairs contains a sofa bed and is separated from the 2 bedrooms allowing the unit to comfortably sleep 6 people. The master bedroom has a bathroom en suite, and adjoins a huge raised deck containing a hot tub with jacuzzi. Views from the deck are stunning, both up the mountain and across the valley towards distant peaks. The living room contains a wood-burning fireplace, 3 sofas and 27' TV with VCR/DVD. The entire unit was totally refurbished in 2005 with new furniture, kitchen and bathrooms. Fully equipped kitchen including microwave and coffee machine. This unit can be joined with next door unit 991A via a lockable internal door to create a unit that sleeps 8 people

Kimberley is an old mining town in SE British Columbia nestled deep in the Rockies. Though growing rapidly in popularity it is relatively undiscovered as a resort destination which means visitors benefit from a lack of overcrowding and reasonable costs. The town is located approximately 250 miles from Calgary (the nearest large city -- 4-5 hours drive), and 15 miles from Cranbrook, a medium sized town with a local airport connected by air shuttle ~8 times per day to Calgary & Vancouver

Christmas as it should be

This property was all I'd hoped for. It was clean tidy and had all you needed and more. Loads of space and extremely comfortable. Hot tub had amazing views of the main slope. The location meant that we could pick and choose when we went on the slope and it was just as easy to go back than go to the resort coffee shop.
The city of Kimberley was amazingly quiet but had everything needed including Ice Hockey matches (well worth the $8). The whole break was a perfect snowsport escape.
One of the many highlights was a fantastic New Years Eve night boarding with so few people on the slope I never had to queue in 3hours of boarding.

Time to start saving for the next visit.
Owner's Response: This lovely couple used the property as we do as a family - some of us like to be on the slope most of the day and some of us like to ski in the morning and then pop home for a long soak in the hottub overlooking the Rockies, reading a book! Because the house is so close to the slope, there is great flexibility. We look forward to them returning.

excellent place and lovely village

The place was clean and the views where great to see every day. It was very quite and like seeing the wild life that come to visit us most days (not a bear) but we did see a moose and her 2 babies.
We were given lots of good advice on places to visit as we had the very hot weather this year. Wassa Lake was a great place to visit as the lake was ideal for the children to swim in and the scenery was lovely as you do not expect to found a lake in the middle of the mountains that you can swim in and be warm with it. Cranbrook was a great place to visit and shop. We really liked Kimberley this was a lovely town and had the right amount of shops you needed. I would recommend this property to my friends and family and would love to see it in the winter. Will come back and visit again.
