Car hire/ getting around:
Though a car hire is not essential it is recommended, it is also relatively cheap. and It does give you chance to visit some of the beautiful remote areas of Lanzarote.
Walking is a great way to look around Playa Blanca especially the papagayo area. You will love walking along the sea front promenade, stopping on you way to take in the fabulous views and maybe have a drink. It is wheel chair/buggy friendly.
If you do not wish to hire a car, you will have no problems exploring the Island. The 4 star Iberostar Papagayo Hotel 2-3 minutes walk from the house have numerous activities and excurtions. You simply go to the reception area situated at the front of the hotel to arrange which trips or activities you wish to book. They are really helpful and friendly. You will find this hotel quite useful in many ways!

2 minutes walk from the house is the 4 star Iberostar Papagayo Hotel which has a buffet style restaurant open to the public., You can eat and drink as much as you like for 19 euros (approx £12), with children under 12 at half price. You pay at the reception, then go down stairs (or in the lift) to the dining room.
After your evening meal why not try a quiet drink or even sample the entertainment at one of the other nearby 4 and 5 star hotels.
You will be spoilt for choice at the many restaurants In Playa Blanca, and the Marina Rubicon. there really is something for everyone.
Golf:
A full 18 hole course can be found at Costa Teguise approximately 40 minutes drive from the house.
