Date of Stay: May 2009
My boyfriend and I (in our 20's) stayed in villa Carina for 2 weeks at the end of May 2009 and his parents (in their 50's) stayed with us for the second week. We all had a fantastic time and we cannot fault the villa it was like a home away from home and had everything we needed. Mary was lovely to deal with and very helpful. The villa is very clean and tidy and was much bigger than we expected from the photographs on this website. The pool was checked/cleaned twice a week and sheets and towels changed weekly and the couple that came to do this were also really nice and really helpful. The villa and garden are not overlooked and it's really quiet and peaceful area. We spent most days relaxing by the pool. The villa is up a bit of a hill, however, my boyfriends dad has a walking stick and didn't struggle. There are plenty of places to hire mobility scooters from through if required. Just down the hill ( couple of mintues walk) are a few bars, restaurants and shops with some great entertainment in the evenings at Legends Bar and kareoke until late. There is also a Spar shop which was great for all the essentials and a takeaway pizza place which we tried a couple of times on the way home after a few too many cocktails!! There was also an aquarium and crazy golf course which we didn't go to but would be handy if you have children as they are so close by. A few minutes further down the road is the beach and more shops, bars and restaurants. Columbus restaurant near the beach was lovely. The beach is nice but if you follow the path along the main beach (approx 10 - 15 minutes walk) you come to a lovely little beach with crystal clear water and rockpools. There are more bars, restaurants and shops here too. A couple of times we got a taxi from the villa to these restaurants and it was only a couple of euro's. The sunday market is a great place to pick up some gifts. You can get a bus from the bottom of the road near the chemist or you can book a ticket on a coach through Legends bar which includes a meal at the bar when you return. We also got the bus to Puerto Del Carmen which cost a couple of euro's and about 30 - 40 minute drive which was nice for day out and a little busier than Costa Teguise. If your looking for a relaxing holiday, couples, young families or older people should love this area and we would highly recommend villa Carina. We would love to return to this villa at some point in the future.
