Situated on a 1,000m2 plot in probably the most central and sought after area of delightful Playa Blanca and only 5 minutes walk from the village and beach, this beautiful, traditional villa is furnished to the highest standard and offers all the comforts of home. The villa is detached, has a large drive with parking for up to 4 cars and private garden all around. There is a private solar heated pool with spacious terrace and sunbeds. In addition, residents and guests of Los Calamares have the advantage of the free use of the tennis court and large community pool. The LCD TV with Sky and DVD also comes supplied with a selection of movies. The hifi system has a plug in function for MP3 and Ipods with speakers both in the house and the terrace. The drinks cabinet adds that final touch... The terrace is so delightful that you may well find that you do not want to leave it and many guests find themselves settling into the 'manana, manana' way of life and hence, have to come again

Notes: French doors open from the large, comfortable sitting room on to an expansive covered terrace offering additional, shaded, dining and lounge area. There is a small bar with a fridge on the terrace to keep those cold beers close to hand! Spacious open terraces surround the pool and built-in barbecue with ample sun beds for everyone. The gated pool area makes the villa particularly attractive for parents with young children. There is a play area for under 5s with little tikes play cube and a box of toys for younger children. A selection of CD’s, videos, books and games are provided for your enjoyment. There is also a DVD player. Mini-golf on site. Air conditioning currently being installed to all bedrooms. All guests are provided with hand towel, bath sheet and beach towel. Two hairdryers. Three electric fans.

Playa Blanca: Nestled at the most Southern point of the Island, Playa Blanca (White Beach), once a small fishing village has grown sympathetically into a relaxing and tranquil resort. Family friendly, you can enjoy dinner whilst your children play on the beach in front knowing they are safe and in sight. There is a vast choice of restaurants including some excellent fish ones and a good selection of shops selling everything from flip-flops to diamond jewellery.

Out and About: Although a car is not necessary for this villa, we generally recommend one. Benefits include avoiding taxi queues at the airport and not having to carry the shopping! A small car may be hired for as little as GBP18.00 per day and when you realise a taxi from the airport costs about €40 it all makes sense! There is of course the added benefit of being able to use a car for day trips perhaps to the Aqua Park or for dinner at Puerto Calero Marina.

Awsome way to spend half term

Just wanted to say what a delight it was to spend a week away from the UK, and what a location!! The squid house is perfect in every way for our family getaway. Very child (and grandaprent) friendly. All mods and cons with fantastic al fresco dining. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the carnival was a great bonus! Very short walk to the town and beaches (Flemengo beach was the best). Weather could have been a little better but that did nto stop us from enjoying BBQ's both at the villa and on top of the volcano.

Owner's Response: That's Lanzarote for you! Even the worst of winter in Lanzarote is still far far better than the UK. The annual carnival in Feb normally sees more sunshine than any summer carnival in the UK.

Friendly house!

We have just returned from our second fantastic holiday at the squid house. The location is the best you could ask for with only a 10 minute walk to the centre of Playa Blanca and the lovely safe beach. The restaurants are handy and the fresh food fabulous.
The villa is well equiped (I love the fact that there are a few teabags and milk supplied on arrival and that the cupboards have a few basics to get you going), pool fab and the people really friendly.
Can't wait to return.....

Just got back from a week at the squid house. We have had a fab time. The weather has been wonderful. My husband is in a wheelchair and we have found this villa excellent for all our needs, we even managed to get him into the pool. The location is great, there is a slight hill but nothing we could not manage, in fact it helped us to walk off all the lovely food we have eatten. Thanks again for all your help and information we hope to come back soon. Thanks again !!!!!!!!!

We have just returned from a stay of 11 nights at the squid house with our 3 sons aged 20,17 and 14 and we can honestly say this was our easiest holiday ever! Amazing with three teens! This was in part due to the superb location of the villa-close enough so you can saunter into Playa Blanca but mainly due to the quality of the villa. The outdoor speakers where i-pods could be connected to the cd system was a hit and the size othe villa with different areas for everyone to relax. If we go to the canaries again we would stay at the sqiud house again!

We have just spent 7 days at Squid House. June 2008.

Excellent layout and location. Only 5 minutes walk from shops, bars, restaurants. The property was very clean and well kept. The villa is not overlooked and very private.
I have stayed in villas in varies locations in Europe and can honestly say that this is the best so far.
Will certainly book again.
