This secluded detached spacious bungalow is situated in a highly sought after area of Los Calamares, only 700m from the village centre with its beaches and restaurants. (This is closest area with separate plots and private pools). The U shaped villa surrounds a covered patio area, with Canarias table and chairs for al fresco eating. The villa has a fully equipped kitchen, a dining room with seating for up to 6 adults + 2 children, and a spacious Lounge with seating for 9, with TV, English and German sat, DVD, video, and music centre. Also 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. One of the bedrooms and bathroom lie in one arm of the 'U' as a separate annexe. There is an extensive (18 m) south facing sun terrace which surrounds the large electric and solar heated pool. The villa is set in 1000 m2 grounds, with walled boundaries for privacy and seclusion. It is all on one level making it suitable for people with walking difficulties. There are no through roads near by making it very peaceful.

The bungalow is in a small villa estate consisting of individually designed single storey villas in Los Calamares in the village of Playa Blanca, on the Southern most tip of the Island. The 'U' shaped traditionally designed detached villa has shutters and mosquito netting on all bedroom windows providing shade and security. It lies in 1000 m2 of grounds on the southern edge of Los Calamares, overlooking the green belt, away from any through roads making it very quiet. The boundaries are walled (up to 2m) providing privacy and seclusion, but with a pleasant outlook onto the lower adjacent green belt and palm trees etc. Both the village and villa are peaceful and South facing for maximum sun and protection from the prevailing NE wind. Los Calamares is the nearest location to the village which has privately owned villas in separate plots with private pools within easy walking distance to the centre, where the majority of shops and resturants are located and parking is very problematic.

Additional information about rental rates

  • Rates apply to villa for up to 4 occupants (to ensure good value for low occupancy). Additional adults at £50 (€65) per person per week. Additional children (age 3 to 14) £25 (€33) per child per week, infants (age up to 3) no charge. Bookings normally start Thursday, although we are flexible and other days and part weeks considered for low season (For Saturday or Sunday there is an extra weekend charge of £50 [€65]).
    Deposit £100 (€150) per week, full payment 8 weeks prior to occupancy. Payments can be by cheque or bank transfer or PayPal in pounds, or in Euros (by bank transfer prices are high season €1130, low season €845).
    Use of electric pool heater (to supplement the solar in winter) Oct/Nov and Mar/Apr £25 (€33), Dec/Jan/Feb £50 (€65).
  • Price includes linen and towels (including hand and beach towels) which are changed weekly, and a welcome pack on arrival. Infant pack with a cot (including linen), high chair, baby bath, potty, changing mat etc available at no extra cost. An additional bed can be provided for parties of 7.
  • The villa is located at the end of a small, quiet cul de sac situated away from any roads and the main entrance to Los Calamares community, making it quiet and secluded. Community facilities include a large pool and tennis courts exclusively for use by the community at no extra charge. Racquets and balls available in the villa. There is also a mini golf at the entrance to Los Calamares.

A further covered patio, accessed from the dining room, has built-in BBQ with a table and seating for 6. WiFi is installed at the villa. Tennis racquets (including child size) and balls in Villa for use at the Community's free tennis court, plus large swimming pool for use by Los Calamares residents.

Accommodation: This large detached bungalow lies in 1000 m2 grounds (more than twice the area of newer villas) lying some distance from adjacent villas, overlooking green belt, and away from any through roads, making it a very quiet and secluded villa. It is built in traditional Spanish style, being ‘U’ shaped around a central part-covered patio, which faces onto a large terrace around an electrically and solar heated pool. The secluded terrace and pool face onto green belt, with boundary walls to provide privacy without obscuring the view. One bedroom with shower room lies in one arm of the ‘U’ as a separate annexe making it particularly suitable for groups who want some independence, intercom to main bedroom. All principal rooms have direct access to the partly shaded patio through French windows. The rooms are of generous proportions eg the lounge is nearly 6m square (20 ft square). Playa Blanca: At the southernmost tip of the island, this once fishing village has been developed into a peaceful, pedrestianised resort with lots of safe beaches. Along the shore there is a promenade, which runs the whole length of this area. The restaurants along the sea front overlook the small main beach where you can have a drink or meal whilst keeping an eye on your children playing on the beach. A wide selection of shops and supermarkets are on the street parallel to the promenade. Most of the Playa Blanca area's restaurants and shops are located in this area. In the centre there is a harbour, from where you could take a ferry to the other Canary islands, and views of the neighbouring island of Fuerteventura. Further along the promenade there are 2 further beaches and a marina. The Marina has dinghies and boats for hire as well as a scuba dive centre. Further still is the nature reserve of Papagayo with its beautiful beaches (5 min drive or 15 min cycle along relatively flat coastal path).

Car Hire: The Villa is so relaxing you may find you a car isn’t necessary as the village amenities are so close. We can arrange an airport pick up and transfer service at a cost of 30 euros per car (4 people) each way.

However a car will let you explore the island and visit the Timanfaya national park, the Aqua Park, Golf Course, horse riding, night clubs or small villages like Playa Quemada for a quiet meal. Nearby are the beautiful beaches of Papagayo, designated a conservation area which are a 5 minutes drive away, or a peaceful cycle ride along the flat coastal promenade. Cycles can be hired in the village, per day or week for a small sum. Diving is widely available, and at the marina there is a sailing school with dinghy hire and a Sunsail centre where Yachts can be hired.

Car hire is available either at the Airport (Arrecife) or in the resort. As another airport transfer option you can pick one up at the airport and leave it in Playa Blanca.

A Great holiday

A lovely villa, spotlessly clean,well equipped - (found everything we needed),and superb location an easy 5 mins walk from town centre.
The in-laws stayed in the Annexe and loved the privacy from us.
The pool made the holiday really special our 6 yr old daughter loved the warm temp - up to 32 deg, and wanted to spend all her time in the pool.
We met Julie and Stuart on arrival who and were great and gave some recommendations on local eating places, and let us leave our bags there whilst the villa was being prepared.
Best day out - Ranco Texas, and the white tiger.
Favourite beach - Playa Dorada
Favourite restaurant -L'Artista ( Italian)
Best value food - The little tapas bar by Hiperdino in town - delicious too.

We hope to come back again very soon.

It was so easy to book the villa though holiday rentals and the owners were so helpful, they even organised Tom to pick is up from the airport and also take us back to the airport at the end of the holiday

We loved the villa, you felt at home straight away, everything was so clean and maintained, and it was so nice to have mature gardens around which made it very pretty sitting by the pool.

If you just wanted to relax and not do much this is the perfect villa, very private and peaceful, you did not need transport, you just could walk to the supermarkets and we found so many fab places to eat, and also great shopping all in walking distant.

We were lucky enough to meet the owners Stuart and Julie, they were very welcoming and so friendly. We will be going back next year without a doubt, loved it.

Thankyou again for the best holiday we have had for a while. Love Janet and John

Excellent family villa

Stayed for 1 week. Six of us including 7 and 9 year old children. Lovely clean airy rooms, main part of house has nice big walk in shower. Fantastic warm pool which all of us loved, especially the kids. Home from home facilities with great outdoor BBQ. Very private and quiet location but only 10 min walk to main shops and beach front.
Will definitely return again.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children, People with Disabilities
