Playa Blanca is a beautifully developed old fishing port. The name means 'white beach' and that is exactly what it has - only 3 of them. There is actually a lovely small town beach and it is possible to watch the children play on it whilst you relax outside one of the many traditional bars and restaurants along the sea front promenade.
Running parallel to the sea front is the main shopping street and off this are further little precincts, bars and restaurants.
Walk along the promenade in an easterly direction from the town and you pass a lovely sandy bay before coming to the new and beautiful Rubicon marina. Continue the walk and you will reach Papagayo beach providing numerous bays of golden sand - arguably the best beaches in the Canaries or indeed mainland Spain.
Lanzarote is a fascinating island and is a delight to drive around with some spectacular scenery. There are lots of interesting little villages both inland and on the coast and further marinas to be enjoyed.
