PLAYA BLANCA: Playa Blanca is in the southern most part of Lanzarote. In 1994 it was officially declared a Reserve of the BIOSPHERE by UNESCO and more recently was named by the World Health Organisation as the 2nd healthiest place to live in the world. The promenade walk (approximately 4km long) extends from Los Coloradas via the Marina Rubicon to Dorada Beach (Golden Beach) to the centre, (which hosts the smallest of the 3 main beaches) onto the harbour, and finally to Flamingo Beach/ Lagoon and the luxurious Hotel Timanfaya, to the West of the village. Along here are many exciting shops, restaurants and bars that offer a wonderful selection of Canarian merchandise and food - particularly seafood.
