Altamira is situated right on the sandy beach front of Del Duque beach. The apartment is a true 2 bedroom apartment unlike some that have been converted. This means that the main bedroom leads directly on to the large terrace. The apartment consists of two bedroom the main has double bed and en suite bathroom. The second bedroom has twin beds. The is a second bathroom. The terrace, which looks directly over the pool, is ideal for lazing in the sun, while the large sun blind offers shade, keeping the apartment cool as well as providing a space for all your alfresco dining! Altamira is a well established holiday resort, which proves popular with couples of all ages. If you are looking for all year round sun, a breathtaking pool area, high quality accommodation and a nice tranquil atmosphere, then this is the option for you.

The apartment is in a wonderful location, peaceful with lovely views. Dinner on the balcony watching the sun set over Gomera is Heaven. Clean, excellent value and Jo who arranges the letting was most helpful. I shall return.

More than an apartment, a home while in Tenerife

Deciding which apartment to book for a holiday is always a balance, between location, amenities, view, character, cleanliness and of course price.

So when I say that we have just returned from our 5th - yes 5th stay in this apartment, since it became available about 18 months ago, you will understand it ticked all the aforementioned boxes for us.

First of all our bookings and airport transfers have always been handled with great efficiency, friendliness and total reliability. The apartment has always been spotlessly clean with towel and bedding change once a week.

The location is for us ideal: quiet, clean and safe, with wonderful walks along the sea front promenade that stretches along the scenic coastline of Costa Adeje. The apartment's setting is tranquil, the views spectacular and the amenities in the complex (cafe, restaurant, pools and tropical gardens) excellent.

The apartment is NOT a modern 'photocopy' type that seem to abound nowadays throughout Tenerife. We looked for some time for one that offered something a little different and this apartment with it's welcoming character, is for us more like a 'home' while staying in Tenerife. The facilities from kitchen to two bathrooms, from comfortable beds to relaxing lounge and dining area, certainly met our requirements and standards.

Nothing can be better than waking up in the double-bedded bedroom, opening the sliding door and stepping out onto the terrace/balcony - speaking of which we now come to the real star of the show! The terrace is not only vast, with easily enough room for two tables and sun loungers, but the views are really exceptional.

I have lost count of the numerous photos I have taken from there. To the right the sweep of the Altamira up to the mountains; straight ahead and you look down on the luscious gardens and large swimming pools and to the left the magnificent palms trees, sparkling Atlantic ocean and the island of La Gomera.

To be honest we mostly live on the terrace: from a leisurely breakfast, sun bathing in the afternoon, through to cocktails and even dinner while enjoying magnificent sunsets.

Holidays are about experiences and great memories and that is why we have enjoyed five memorable stays in this apartment - and number six is currently in the planning stage!

What you see and what is written is what you get. The apartment, its location and facilities suited us (4 adults) fine. Arrangements were made at very short notice and were handled very efficiently, including airport transfers. A return is on the cards.

Having stayed at the Altamira before, we were very disappointed with this particular apartment.
The bathrooms are in need of refurbishment, the furnishings are outdated, the towels need replacing, the kitchen cupboards need the old food removing and cleaning, the freezer needs defrosting, some of the lights and sockets do not work, the mirror in the double bedroom needs replacing, covers on settees are dirty and so on.
Generally the place needs some long overdue time and money spent on it.
On the plus side - the double bed was comfortable, including good pillows and there was always plenty of hot water.
