These quaint one-bedroomed apartments have a stunning location on one of El Medano's beaches. They were actually built on the beach about 40 years ago and this makes them unique. The apartments are reached by a spiral staircase and consist of a lounge-kitchen diner, a brand new bathroom with shower and a bedroom with either a double bed in apt 1 or twin beds in apt 2. There is ample wardrobe and drawer space in the apartment. The kitchen contains a microwave and stove in case you want to eat in and there is a foldaway table. The lounge has a TV and DVD player. The lounge in each apt also has sliding patio doors onto the balcony which overlooks the Atlantic Ocean. The balcony receives the sun from early in the morning until it sets at night and is the perfect place to sunbathe or barbeque! They have a table and 2 chairs as well as 2 fold-away sun loungers. There is an automatic canopy on apt 1 only which covers the whole balcony should you need some shade to eat or time out of the sun.

This one bedroomed beachside apartment was originally built as one of four to house local fishermen- this is one of only a handful of apartments in Medano directly on the seafront. It has the advantage of being an end apartment and is located at the top of a flight of stairs. The accomodation comprises a lounge-kitchen diner with sliding doors out onto the balcony which stretch across the front of the apartment. The lounge has a TV and DVD player as well as a radio/CD player. The kitchen area has microwave, hob and fold away table. The bathroom is newly fitted and also houses the washing machine. The bedroom at the rear of the apartment has a double bed and plenty of drawer and wardrobe space. The tiled flooring throughout gives a Spanish feel and the accommodation is extremely light and airy with sun all day. As the apartment is located on one of El Medano's beaches the view is spectacular and it is hard to imagine a more relaxing place to be than the balcony overlooking the bay.

El Medano is a bustling market town on the South coast of Tenerife, just a 5 minute taxi ride from the airport. The town centres around a plaza which is adjacent to the main beach. The centre of El Medano is pedestrianised with plenty of beachside cafes and restaurants. The market is on every Saturday in the main plaza and attracts visitors from nearby villages as well as the locals. El Medano is renowned for the quality of the windsurfing and kite surfing, attracting visitors from all over Europe to enjoy the perfect conditions. In fact, kite surfing originated in El Medano, and the current world champion resides there. The beaches provide fantastic conditions to swim and fishing is a popular pastime with many fishing boats being moored in the bay. The local bus service, the Titsa, runs regularly from El Medano to all the main attractions in Tenerife including Mount Teide and the Increasingly popular water parks as well as the other major towns and cities.

...we`ve been there in Jan 09 for at least 11 days and nights. We really enjoyed our stay in this perfect location with breakfast on the balcony and the "medano-live" right in front of the apartment. As mentioned in the reviews before, the restaurants are good, the beach is amazing and el medano with its habitants is very, very friendly ...all you need is in this apartement. It is clean, quiet, right at the ocean, inside the "medano-live and has this wonderful view to both surf-spots.

Very conveniently situated apartment

We have just returned from a very comfortable week in this apartment. It was clean and equiped with everything we needed, including a proper coffee maker which was very welcome. The area felt very safe too.
The balcony has excellent views over the bay and there is usually something happening on the water to look at. It was very windy [more so than usual aparently] which enabled lots of wind surfers to get out and do their stuff, entertaining us in the process.
The smell from the restaurant below was a bit of a pain, but think that most youngsters will be out and about during the evenings anyway so are unlikely to notice, and it was always gone by 11 - 11.30 so we could have the door open after thant if we wanted to.
This must be one of the most convenient places I have ever stayed, being close to absolutely everything, 400 yards to the big supermarket, 200 yards to the beach, and less that a minute to umpteen restaurants, including the Yaiza restaurant which is really worthwhile if you enjoy good food. It was also very close to the Titsa bus stops which take you just about everywhere. Having spent one day in Los Christianos, we were very thankful we chose to stay in El Medano, which is much smaller and quieter without being dead.
Just below the balcony the waves really crashed in at high tide - very exciting and at low tide you got to see quite a number of birds, I think we saw dunlins, plovers and curlews but didn't have a book with me.
The walk up the red mountain was worth the effort, a surprising number of plants to be seen and it was geological interesting too.

We went to this flat for our honeymoon, Cheap but extremely cheerful. 15 mins from airport , great location , great takeaways , great food and a great apartment with wonderful views and full sun all day! The owners have fitted a superb adjustable awning to control the light and everything in the apartment is very comfortable and amazingly quiet for somewhere so close to the action . Literally step out and you are close to everything.We would never have considered el medano but it was a fantastic place and spotlessly clean and i mean the whole resort! WE HAD A GREAT TIME and stayed for over two weeks ! and never got bored. The beach is amazing and we loved the walk to the red mountain :absolutely fascinating! a great holiday pete and gill from the northwest

Individual appartment with a wonderful view

The appartment is located in the heart of El Medano's pedestrian zone and just 100meters to the beach.
We enjoyed having a coffee in the morning on the balkony with the unique, wonderful view on the sea or sitting on the balkony in the evening with a glass of wine and watching the sun go down..
The appartment was proper, but old-fashioned equipped (you should like this individual style).
One little disadvantage: there is an restaurant below the appartment, so it often smells of garlic and oil.
All in all we would go there again, because you can reach everything without any problems: supermarkets, bus station, the beach, restaurants, shops,...
It's individual, not like modern hotels or appartments. But the big difference is: you have your own entry, live alone in the house and most of the time it's quiet (just the waves from the sea or some noises from the pedestrian zone).
