Lovely villa; not just another 'holiday let'

This pretty villa is set in a quiet residential road with plentiful parking outside the gate. It is surrounded by its own tropical gardens and is not overlooked. There are wonderful views to the south coast which is a leisurely 15-minute drive away.
It is a 20-minute stroll (or 2-minute drive) to the restaurants, shops and supermarkets of Valle de Lorenzo or the very pretty little La Camella. Or a 3-euro taxi-drive back after a good meal and wine if you feel lazy. Both these towns / villages have plenty of (free) parking by the roadsides, which was a welcome change from the UK. We had some wonderful meals (slightly cheaper than UK) but were let down by the highly rated Paraiso in Lorenzo; we complained, and they immediately deducted the food price from our bill without argument.
The villa itself was spotlessly clean, and larger and more spacious than the photos suggest. This is not a typical 'holiday let', but a home-from-home for the owners. It had everything we could need and more. The master suite has indeed a (very comfortable) extra-large double bed; there is a large walk-in wardrobe and a spacious recently fitted bathroom with Jaccuzzi bath. The other bedrooms were very pretty. The dining / living area was spacious and nicely furnished including a small library with a wide selection of books. The kitchen is smallish, a little worn, but with plenty of character; easily big enough for what we wanted, though, and well equipped.
Ouside, the garden is very well-stocked. A surprise to see bouganvillea, strelitzia, lemon and cactus growing alongside roses. The large tiled patio had ample room for the comfortable sun-loungers and quality outdoor dining furniture. The pool is not a 'splash pool' as so often seen; it is a decent size, beautifully warm, and wonderfully maintained.
The National park of Tiede is a must-see, albeit with a scary drive there and back. Apart from the extraordinary landscape at the top of the highest mountain in Spain, the views over the clouds to the neighbouring islands is forever memorable.
The owner was very helpful, returning our last minute emails very promptly.
The only criticisms preventing a five-star rating are that the jaccuzzi was not working (the owner is awaiting repairs), and that the restaurants were not closer.
Would we recommend it or return ourselves? Definitely.

Owner's Response: Many thanks for the review and pleased to hear you had a lovely holiday. We do try and keep the villa well maintained so guests can just relax and enjoy their stay.
Apologies re the jacuzzi - it should have been repaired by now. The bath is usable - it is just the jacuzzi and we are still waiting for a spare part. Some things never change in Tenerife. I will chase this.
The shops and restaurants in Valle San Lorenzo are under one kilometre away - I can walk it in 10 minutes but perhaps I walk fast. The recently added footpaths make it a pleasant walk.
Once again many thnaks for the lovely review as it is good for future guests to know what to expect.
