Travel from airport:
It is quite a long way from the Airport to Jandia but the drive is scenic and it would not be the place that it is if it were easily accessible. We can sometimes arrange pick ups and returns on request, the cost being your responsibility.
The cheapest way of getting to/from the airport is by number 10 bus (only about 8 Euros each way and unexpectedly comfortable!). As you approach Jandia Playa by road you will see the beach and sea shimmering below on your left. Continue past the lighthouse on your left. The entrance to Palm Garden is more or less opposite where you see buildings starting on your left hand side. The entrance is not ostentatious but clearly marked. Alight around there. All you then have to do is cross the shopping concourse and into the Palm Garden reception where your key will be waiting for you. You will be asked for ID at reception. The return bus leaves at 0635 from the other side of the road, directly opposite the complex.
Housekeeping:
There are no slot meters in the apartments. with your key you will find a device which you stick into the wall on entering 915 and 916. This will operate the electricity for the whole apartment. You do not need this device for 917 but may find the current turned off at the fuse box, which is above the basin in all of them.
There is a fan provided but you may find it best to close the curtains and shut the windows in the daytime when you are out and open them at night. This is the continental way of keeping places cool. It can get very hot on those balconies but it can get chilly in the evenings during the winter months. Jandia is also great for cocktail lovers, like us!
The variety of restaurants is impressive. Paella at the Esquinzo beach cafe at 1pm on Sundays is a 'must' for us. The local port of Morro Jable is a short coastal walk away, with an impressive range of waterfront restaurants.
The adventurous and discerning should try the Marabu Restaurant at Esquinzo.
Have fun!:
We hope you have a lovely holiday, whether Jandia is your choice, or not! It will always be ours and it would be a pleasure to have you as our guests.
Golf:
There are golf courses on Fuerteventura but the one outside Jandia is still under construction. You would need to hire a car and travel to Caleta de Fuste or elsewhere for a game.
Other Activities:
camel riding and gardens a little way off in Lajita
