The 'Marysol 1&2' holiday,self-catering apartments (from £260pw) are excellently located on the 5th (top) floor (2 lifts) of the Los Volcanes Residence, Playa del Ingles, Gran Canaria resort, 12 minutes walk from the wonderful, golden sand, 5 mile Playa del Ingles/Maspalomas beach. The Residence has an outdoor pool with a children's area, surrounded by a garden. The spacious apartments both have 2 bedrooms (I queensize, I twin), sunny seaview balcony with table and 4 chairs, lounge/kitchen/diner and bathroom. A 3rd, similar apartment 'Marysol 3' with 2 twin bedrooms is in the adjacent building (£320 pw). The apartments are peaceful, yet restaurants, bars, a small supermarket, internet, nightlife, golf, tennis etc are very close. Transit from Las Palmas airport is easy (30 mins); a taxi from the airport costs about 30 euros and the bus about 5 euros. Gran Canaria is a very interesting island to visit. The climate is one of the best in the world, with pleasant warmth and sun year-round.

Playa del Ingles/Maspalomas has an amazing golden sand beach stretching for more than 5 miles and the sunniest climate of Gran Canaria. The beach, the famous dunes and a nature reserve were protected while the resort was developed around them in the 1970s. The 'Marysol' apartments are located within an easy walk of the beach and its water sports, golf and tennis, as well as facilities of the resort with affordable restaurants, shops, sports, nightlife and children's attractions. Enjoy the food,with fresh fish from the sea and local tropical fruits. For visits, Las Palmas, capital of the Canaries, is an attractive small Spanish city easily accessible by bus, as are nearby small ports. A car is not necessary. However exploring Gran Canaria (probably the most interesting Canary island) with a hired car is also rewarding and the apartments have parking space (no charge). The scenery and coastline are varied and spectacular with mountains, lush forests, and picturesque old villages.

Top floor apartment in peaceful complex yet minutes walk to good restaurants supermarket etc. No car required and frequent good bus service. Beach less than 10 mins walk away. Apartment very clean and fresh, well equipped with sunny balcony. The whole complex was spotlessly clean with well tended gardens and pool cleaned every morning. Owner very helpful and informative and good information pack in the apartment. Will definitely return.

A centrally situated apartment close to everything

For a party or a family of up to four people this apartment is right at the centre of everywhere you would probably wish to visit. Literally everything, the beach, the restaurants, the supermarkets, shopping centres, the bus stops are all either outside the front entrance or within a 10 minute walk.

In addition the apartment has two single beds in one of the bedrooms and a double in the other, all of which are comfortable. In addition considering the location the apartment is in a really peaceful setting with very little noise. The views from the balcony are to the south west and overlook the Maspalomas sand dunes along with numerous palm trees. The gardens surrounding the pool are kept tidy and there are many sun beds available, you will probably be the only ones occupying them.

Breakfast on the balcony as the sun rises offers a wonderful start to the day and the parakeets may even visit the top of the Monkey tree that is almost within touching distance of the balcony.

As you have probably guessed we have visited this apartment twice over Christmas and the New Year previously. We are going for a month again this year. We know you will like it, the only cautionary advice that we can give is the pool can be cold in the winter, so if you have children they could become bored unless you intend frequent excursions from the apartment. Having said that and again within walking distance there is much for everyone to do or to be entertained.

Cooking facilities include two rings on a ceramic hob and a microwave oven. There is no oven but being it’s so cheap to eat and drink out you probably couldn't care less.
Although on the top floor the apartment is well served by two lifts both of which would take a wheelchair with ease.

The apartment is cleaned and the linen changed weekly weekly by a Spanish who also does for the hotel next door.

Booking with Maria or William is straightforward and always a pleasure. You really will Love it.
