My son Kevin works and lives in Las Palmas, Gran Canaria and as it was the start of November I decided to visit him. As it can be a little cooler up North I searched the internet for accommodation in the South. As my 3 sisters and sister-in-law decided to come with me I needed to find somewhere that would suit us all. By the way our ages range from 76 (my eldest sister, to myself 60, the youngest in the group. I found this bungalow and booked it on the internet. As our times got changed at the last minute I found the owner brillant to work with and very accommodating. We were delighted when we saw the property as it had a lovely patio and only a few steps to the pool. It is also very convenient to the Yumbo Centre as well as other shopping Centres and a 5 to ten minute walk to the beach area depending which way you walk down. The manager Paco was really nice and when we discovered there were not enough beds he was going to move us but we liked the bungalow so much he proceeded to get us an extra bed. Also the washing machine was new and he spent time sorting out how to work it. Nothing was too much trouble. We were even able to get a menu from the restaurant and order lunch which he brought to the bungalow.
Everything was kept really spotless and the cleaners came every day. The area itself was very convenient to all amenities and it was easy to get a bus to the city of Las Palmas. I would recommend anyone staying here to do this as Las Palmas has also so much to offer, from the hugh marina on one side to the beautiful beach on the other not forgetting the shopping malls as well as El Corte De Ingles.
Playa Del Ingles itself has a fantastic promenade which leads down to the beach at various points. Along here are loads of restaurants serving different kinds of food. And the beach is something else. Remember though to the right of the sand dunes is the nudest area so be prepared - this is their part of the beach. For people on a budget there is a restaurant called The Gran Buffet where for 9E 99 or so you can eat as much as you want. Again this is only a 5 to 10 minute walk away. The Yumbo Centre has shops, stalls and restaurants so there is something for everyone there. The Kasbah Centre is a little further along the main road but here you have to haggle. Its good fun but be careful they can rip you off. All in all we had a great 9 days here and I would definitely rent this property again.By the way the weather was just perfect too !!
