The Pajero, an intimate, charming holiday cottage perfect for two

Pajero El Pinar is situated on a 45,000m2, British-owned estate on the sunny west side of La Palma, near the town of El Paso. The attractively-converted former stables are situated at an altitude of 800 meters, bordering on one of Spain's most dramatic natural parks, with dramatic views of the mountains, valley, and ocean. Walking and hiking paths abound and are readily accessible from the estate.

Pajero El Pinar, La Palma

The Pajero has been converted from the original stables into a beautiful and spacious two-person cottage, or 'mini-Villa'. It is situated on a 45,000 m2 estate in a quiet, forested area with breathtaking views towards the nearby mountains, the Aridane Valley and to the Atlantic Ocean. Our English-and-Dutch speaking property manager lives in the caretaker's cottage on the estate. He is there to receive you, to explain things, and to be of any required assistance during your stay.

Pajero Amenities

The handsomely-appointed Pajero consists of three rooms: a living room, kitchen/dining room and a bedroom with an ensuite bathroom. The living room has a wood burning stove, two very comfortable couches, a chair, writing desk, two coffee tables and a bookcase. Plus cable TV, telephone/fax, stereo. Sliding glass door open onto the covered terrace and patio, with pergola. The lovely garden contains table and chairs, sun beds and a barbecue. There are no immediate neighbors, so it is very private. The Island's best supermarket is 5 minutes distant, and beaches around 15 minutes by rental car.

La Palma - the Undiscovered Canary Island

The Berlitz Guide to the Canaries states unequivocably that La Palma is the world's most beautiful island. The ratio of mountain height to total land area is the world's greatest. It has not been negatively-affected by mass tourism as have most of the other larger Canary Islands, and remains relatively undiscovered. Touring and savouring the Island's many charms are among the many attractions. There is a dolphin trip, and many good international restaurants as well as reasonably-priced local restaurants offering typical specialities such as superb fresh seafood and grilled chicken, barbecued pork, and even rabbit and 'cabrito', or barbecued goat. As London's Royal Shakespeare Society has authenticated four references to wine from La Palma in Shakespeare's works, there are many excellent local wines to enjoy.

'My husband, John, and I were here for 7 weeks earlier this year...I travel a lot, all over the world, and this is the VERY FIRST TIME I have EVER returned again to the same place! I feel totally relaxed here...there is the total quiet and extremely beautiful scenery...I liked it's not being 'touristy' here...the Pajero is a paradise for anyone who appreciates the beauty and solitude of nature, a wonderful climate, the friendliness of the locals, and excellent service from the staff.
