Corralejo holiday villa: Corralejo

We have stayed in Corralejo before but this is the first time we have rented a private villa, our previous visit being to a package hotel. All I can say is "Vive La Difference".

The villa was in excellent condition, with all mod cons, including a fridge up by the sunroof, which meant we never had to venture too far for a refreshing drink whilst enjoying the Fuerteventura sun.

The villa is set in a secluded complex of about 20 similar villas, sharing a communal pool, but to be honest the pool felt like it was our own private pool for the two weeks - it was never busy. The complex is very clean and has teh most amazing plants and flowers.

In the villa, the kitchen is well equipped and very convenient for breakfasts and lunch, although if you prefer there are several bars and restaurants nearby, and lots more in the town centre which is about 15 minute walk, along the beautiful waterfront. Our kids never tired of the walk, it was great walking off our evening meal on the way back to the villa.

We were two families, of 5 people and 4 respectively. The villa comfortably accomodates 8, the 9th was a squeeze. I would recommend this property without hesitation for families with children. A real bonus is the washing machine which meant we could travel light.

The bedrooms were all comfortable, and there are three bathrooms, so never a queue in the morning.

The complex is also sheltered from the strong Fuerte wind and you feel quite secure and private, ideal for small children
