It is on the edge of a quiet, traditional village which sits in a natural plain surrounded by fields with far-reaching views of hills and mountains, including a dormant volcano! It is ideal for a quiet, get-away-from-it-all holiday. In spite of its tranquil location it is less than quarter of an hour from the busy resort of Caleta de Fuste, the beach, a world-class golf course and the airport. The accommodation is finished to a very high standard and the floors are fully tiled throughout. Vista Montana is located in the tranquil village of Triquivijate (pronounced 'Tricky-vee-arty'). Triquivijate is right in the centre of Fuerteventura about 3km from Antigua. Being in the centre of the island makes it an ideal location for discovering all that the island of Fuerteventura has to offer. Although Triquivijate is small it does have a shop, a bar, a restaurant, two bar/restaurants, a church and some riding stables. The bars are really fantastic in Tricky: Although the locals don't speak very much English they are very friendly and always willing to try and understand what you want! The villa is less than 15min drive from Caleta with its horseshoe shaped beach, shops and restaurants galore, and about 15min from the championship Golf Course, and Atlantico Centre, with its Supermarket, specialist shops, Bowling, Cinema and restaurants. It is about 15min away from Puerto del Rosario, the island's capital, and airport. Please ask us for more details e.g. our website address.

Perfect Relaxing Holiday

Review Submitted: August 1, 2011 Date of Stay: May 2011
Perfect attention to detail all through booking, from John and Debbie,The map and directions to the villa were spot on.
When we walked through the door of the villa it was realy like home from home, there was everything you could want, even down to toys for my two year old grandaughter and a food and drink welcome pack.
On the first evening we had a visit from the manager,to see if we had setled in ok and to answer any questions we had,she was realy very kind and I would to thank her for the help that she gave us.
As stated in the other reviews Triquivijate is a very quiet area but this was just what we wanted.
My son in law is a great cook,so we made use of the local supermarket opposite the golf club, and dinned in for the week.
We enjoyed the villa so much that we have booked with John and Debbie, for ten more days this year.

If you want to relax..........this is it!!!!

Review Submitted: March 2, 2011 Date of Stay: February 2011
Right from the start, with the booking procedure, you knew this was going to turn out as described.
Debbie was brilliant with her instructions and Peter, who we saw just the once, was on hand just when we wanted him.
The house is very well equipped and spotlessly clean as are the outside terraces and pool. The views of the mountains are superb! Aptly named villa!
The weather, at night, was a little chilly but even so the BBQ was a bonus with fresh meat and fish cooked to perfection.
The village is only small but the bread is fresh in the morning and you can always pop down the road to Antigua for a change!
The island is easy to get around and the beach at Risco del Paso is excellent as is the restaurant there (much the same as previous visits)
For a care free breal I could not recommend anywhere better for some genuine R & R.

Restful and relaxing

Review Submitted: February 3, 2011 Date of Stay: January 2011
Beforehand the owners were really helpful and on arrival the managers were onhand. The welcome pack was very useful and the internet connection meant I could work as well as relax.

It's in a beautiful spot - lots of birdsong, dogs and local cock to let you know you really are away from it all and in the country. Superb views from the balcony with the potential for wonderful sunsets.
A gentle stroll to the local shop for delicious rolls and then off to explore the neighbouring areas. You need a car if you plan to explore- but the position in the centre of the island meant that within 10 days we had seen most of it- even sheltering behind sand dunes to enjoy the most superb beach at Risco del Paso. It's also not far from the airport but you don't hear any planes as you are in the valley surrounded by the mountains.

All that we had been promised was here - except the weather...a very disappointing damp, dull and windy week at the end of January. This meant that the pool, for which we paid extra to be heated, never reached the temp that made swimming enjoyable and the shutters on the windows banged most nights until we had plugged as many as were reachable to stop them being caught by the wind and banging on the walls. Thankfully there were duvets, blankets and a fan heater - the house is clearly suited to keeping the heat out in the summer rather than staying warm in the winter. The wind came in through most windows and the rain came under the doors several times - apparently the wind direction was the cause.

The one local restaurant in the village El Jardin is up for sale and was deserted - so we needed to go further afield to eat but we found some great tapas within 15 mins. Local bars in the village are very spanish and gave an opportunity to practise spanish and friendly locals appreciated our efforts. The house has all you need in the well equipped kitchen, if you plan to cook - as we did. Had to turn off heater if cooker was on to prevent power cuts - most nights power went off in one way or another until our friendly neighbours had shared their expertise. The village was without power for several hours one evening - I was glad I had brought a torch!

Would return if we could be guaranteed some sun - maybe a different time of year would mean the wind would be less fierce and the pool warmer.

Relaxing holiday February 2010

Review Submitted: March 30, 2010 Date of Stay: February 2010
We had a very restful stay at Vista Montana, just what we needed. The villa was spacious, well equipped, clean and the welcome pack was much appreciated on arrival. The villa's local managers were english speaking, very friendly and helpful.
Communication with the owners was always easy by e-mail. We've booked again for 2 weeks in 2010 so what better recommendation.
We had stayed in Triquivijate, in another villa, in 2009. The village is well placed in the middle of the island away from more touristy areas, a good base for exploring the island, we had a car for the whole week.
There is a village shop, a couple of bars and it's home for local people. Closeby the small town of Antigua has a supermaket (who needs a superstore on holiday), pharmacy and great bread/cake/coffee shop.
We enjoyed days in and out. Loved the landscape and sand dunes of Parque Natural de las Dunes de Corralejo, had a great Paella at La Marisma in El Cotillo and found the wreck of the SS American Star (not much left), watching the power of the sea while sharing a picnic lunch with some friendly chipmunks. The highlight of each day was a walk in the village to see/feed the baby donkey and goat kids + parents. Simple pleasures!
