A two hundred year old former avocado plantation owner's house, restored to a high modern standard, whilst retaining many traditional canarian features. Set in a terraced subtropical garden with a large heated pool, the villa has spectacular views of the coast and mountains. Villa Miranda is extremely private, spacious, well equipped and characterful, with wooden balconies, staircase, internal roofs, floors and window seats in the traditional canarian style.

La Palma is the so-called 'pretty island' of the canaries, a walker's and nature lover's paradise. The whole island is protected and offers contrasts of volcanic landscapes, subtropical rain forests, conifer woodlands and rugged coastline, all within easy travelling distance of the villa. Villa Miranda is set in the valley of las Brenas, near the town of San Pedro and has panoramic views of the coastline and bay of Santa Cruz and the mountains to the rear. The capital Santa Cruz and the beach resort of Los Cancajos, with restaurants, cafes, bars and shops, are a short drive away. A pleasant 45 minute drive through mountain scenery will take you to explore the other side of the island, with the towns of Tazacorte, famous for its fish cuisine and Puerta Naos, a pretty beach resort.

Notes: Two of the bedrooms are en-suite. One of these can either be a twin or a double room on request. The dining room has a wood burning stove and double doors lead onto a large enclosed balcony with cane seating, with spectacular views. The spacious lounge is on the first floor and offers panoramic views of the local area. The large well-equipped kitchen has a canarian style wood roofed dining area overlooking the tiled terraces and garden. A roofed tiled terrace outside the kitchen has a wooden table and seating for eight, adjacent to a further tiled terrace with a barbecue and sun-bathing area. The automatic washer and tumble dryer are located in a washhouse in the grounds and there are outside lines for drying clothes. The heated swimming pool (8mx6m) is set in a magnificent tiled terrace which offers spectacular views of the coast and mountains.
