Well equipped, comfortable apartments set in lush tropical gardens next to Discovery Bay's beautiful beach. Art Studio is a small development of a dozen apartments which are friendly and quiet. They are in St James, the most favoured part of Barbados with golden white beaches, calm sea and beautiful sunsets over the water. Each apartment has a balcony or veranda with outside dining table, seating and chaise. Inside there is a fully equipped kitchen, an indoor dining table and further seating. All have a double or twin bed. Extra beds can be supplied by arrangement. Bathrooms have a large walk-in shower. Daily maid service is included and there is access to laundry facilities. A selection of holiday books and games is provided. Internet access can also be arranged. A supermarket plus an excellent range of shops, restaurants and bars is just five minutes walk away in Holetown.

Freidnsly staff, airport pick up, great beach

Palm lined Discovery Bay has lovely sand and a big area marked off by buoys for safe swimming; plus a floating platform for diving or sunbathing. You will be well looked after by our friendly staff. Audrey who is the housekeeper and Harry who is the gardener and maintenance man. They will ensure things run smoothly and answer any questions for you. We can arrange for you to be picked up at the airport by either Harry or a local taxi firm. Art Studios benefit from a cooling easterly breeze. The gardens offer a delightful mixture of hibiscus and bougainvillea flowers together with banana, paw-paw and breadfruit plants.

The area

There is a very nice new restaurant Bistro One on the waterfront 200 yards along Discovery Bay beach. Cocomos, a long time local favourite is 4-5 minutes walk along the sand in Holetown There is a great beach bar - Surfside - which has satellite TV showing all the main UK premier league football matches and West Indies cricket. Football widows will be encouraged to know there is a shopping mall so the plastic can be exercised while the old chap drowns his sorrows as his team lose. Holetown is exactly five minutes walk away. It is the place where the first English settlers arrived. It has a wide range of shops, restaurants, bars and boutiques. The modern shopping mall has an excellent supermarket. Bridgetown is about 15-20 minutes away to the South by bus or car. Colourful and bustling Speightstown is 6 miles away - 15 minuts and 40p on the reggae (yellow) bus which stops outside Art Studio.
