Further details for this holiday apartment rental in Holetown, Barbados

Eating and Drinking: Zacchios Restaurant is a favourite 5 minutes stroll away with water side eating at sensible prices. Nearby Inn on the Beach has a great value buffet lunch and lovely setting. Surfside Bar & Restaurant has a great Happy Hour, simple beach menu and TV screens for sports lovers. Coxies and Groots are popular bars a short walk North and Lexy Piano Bar enlivens the town. Holetown's First and Second Streets offer a mix including Mediterranean, Bajan, South Indian, Italian and Asian restaurants. For upmarket dining Tides and The Mews deserve their reputations. Further afield The Fish Pot, North of Speightstown is worth the bus ride - as is Cariba to the South. To eat like the locals try the roadside vans - or the fish frys at Oistins and Half Moon Fort. Patisserie Flint can ease you into another laid back day with a latte and delicious banana bread. If you just want to sit on a beach with a rum punch Harry our gardener has a family recipe and will gladly mix you a bottle of his finest.

Beaches around the island: Discovery Bay and Settlers beaches are ideal for swimming with gently shelving sand, jet ski free areas marked by buoys & floating platforms for diving or sunbathing. If you want to chill in the shade with a good book they are fringed with Coconut Palms & Casuarina trees & Bougainvillea adding a splash of colour. Water skiing and other aqua sports are available on the beach - or you can book ahead at Sandpiper's kiosk. Mullins & Gibbs beaches are 4 miles north, Sandy Lane beach 2 miles south. Brighton beach just north of Bridgetown has a glorious expanse of sand + the delightfully laid back Weisers Bar.The South East Coast is a favourite place with all types of surfer. The East Coast is a complete contrast - almost deserted with big Atlantic rollers crashing in rather than the gentle Caribbean Sea. It is rugged and beautiful but beware of the dangerous undertow in many places. Crane Beach is superb - with a great deli en route. Best eating places there: The Cove & The Crane.

Barbados and the Bajans offer so much: Barbados is a very beautiful island, with lots of art, activities, nightlife, music, history, great restaurants. But what makes Barbados special, and the reason so many visitors return year after year, is the Bajans who are warm, charming, always ready with a smile. They make you feel welcome and really at home on this lovely Caribbean Island. - - Do try a half day catamaran cruise up the West coast with lunch, drinks, wreck snorkeling and a swim with turtles. It departs just by Art Studio. - - Barbados has a reputation for having the finest golf in the Caribbean, with championship at Sandy Lane & Royal Westmoreland 5 minutes away and Royal Barbados Golf Club further south. - - Also: Kensington Oval, best known of all West Indian Cricket Grounds - - Rum distillery tour and rum shops - - Wildlife Reserve (north) - - Andromeda Botanical Gardens (east) - - Harrison's cave with impressive stalactites & and stalagmites (centre) - - the largest military garrison in the Caribbean. - - Enjoy.

Other Activities: Liming, steel band, piano bar, reef snorkeling, swimming with turtles, glass bottom boat, jet ski, rum shops and distillery, marine parks.

1. My thanks for a wonderful stay in your appt last week. It was a great escape and an enjoyable first glimpse of Barbados! I thoroughly enjoyed it but didn't really do justice to all the places to see and visit in the time I was there but it gives me a good reason to go back. 2. Thanks for a brilliant holiday in Art Studio. We had a great time. Please pass our thanks to Harry, Audrey & Helena. 3. We had a fantastic time thank you very much. 4. We enjoyed our Christmas break at Art Studios. It was a great place to be for 2 weeks. Harry & Audrey were great. 5. We had a lovely time - just what we needed - nothing nicer than a tan for the New Year.

Loved this place!

Review Submitted: July 8, 2009 Date of Stay: June 2009
Our stay at Art Studios was just perfect. This was my 16th visit to Barbados but my first at these studios and certainly will not be my last! The studio was well equipped, beds were very comfy and the large shower was good. We really enjoyed the large balcony where there was a lovely breeze. Harry & Audrey were always around for a chat and to help with absolutley anything! Audrey even sorted out some washing for me which was a god-send.
The beach is just a short stroll and we sat outside Settlers Villas stretch of beach where there was shade from the Palm trees.
Surfside bar is great for its happy hour and we also ate from Papa Earls who sells great veggie food just across the main road from Art Studios each day. Wonderful!
Thank-you and we will be back!

We adore Art Studio

Review Submitted: May 28, 2009 Date of Stay: February 2009
My husband and | enyoyed very much our stay at Art Studio. The beach is so close with beautiful blue water for swimming and snorkelling and very good sunbathing. Art Studio is very friendly and we enjoyed talking with other guests from UK, Canada and Italy as well as the staff. For us the best restaurants were Tides which is superb and we also like The Mews abd Olives. The happy hour at Zaccios is very good fun as well. We saw the East coast which is so very different and went on a catamaran trip on the West coast. It is a beautiful island and we hope to return.

We stayed at the Art Studios in March 2009 and absolutely loved it. The apartment and gardens were beautiful and always kept lovely and clean by the fantastic staff. With only a short walk to the beach and restaurants and fantastic weather who could possibly want anything else? The perfect way to start married life. Thank You

Happy Times

Surfside Winchester, Hampshire
Review Submitted: June 3, 2008 Date of Stay: April 2008
The apartment was everything we wanted & expected & was only 35 metres from the beach. Audrey was brilliant cleaning up after us on a daily basis. Breakfast on the balcony in the blazing sunshine was first class & a drink on the steps to the beach watching the sunset was even better. It has to be experienced to be believed!
The wildlife you could see from the apartment was also spectacular with humming birds, mongooses & green monkeys, all very friendly.
There are so many superlatives with the sandy beach, warm water, colourful fish, happy hour at the Surfside Bar & good restaurants etc.! Don't miss Sunday night in 1st Street.
Thanks for a great time.
