This split level apartment overlooks the lush tropical gardens, where Art studios are situated. The kitchen and dining area are also upstairs. There is seating both inside and outside on the balcony. Downstairs on ground level is a large bedroom with double bed and a shower room. The bed can be split into twin beds if necessary and additional beds are available for children (air mattress). Access to the beach is only a few steps away. The apartment has a ceiling fan upstairs, downstairs and on the balcony. There is also one mobile fan unit that can be moved around the apartment if necessary. All windows and doors are fitted with mosquito nets.

The apartment is an 8 minute walk North of Holetown, which has a shopping centre with supermarket and duty free shopping. There are many local restaurants and bars within walking distance. Most of the restaurants and bars are situated on 1st and 2nd Street which is only a five minute walk from the apartment.

Return visit to the Art Studios

We returned to Art Studios again this year having stayed in the complex last year. We chose no14 due to the fact that we had a view of the sea and faced away from the entrance roadway. We were very pleased with our choice of apartment and can say that the details on the web site lived up to our expectations. We have enjoyed a peaceful relaxed three weeks and were very sad at having to return home. We are independant travellers and hired a small car to use for shopping and touring the island eventually traveling approx 750 miles. We visited all the places we have seen before and enjoyed every minute. We tended to use the car in the morning then return middle afternoon to swim on the beach which we also enjoyed each morning before breakfast. The local people of Barbados are very friendly and if you take the time will always enjoy talking to you.
We have not eaten out in the evenings but at mid day. We found the cost of lunch acceptable and enjoyed the variety of dishes on offer in locations all over the island. The local supermarket in Holetown is more than adequate supplying good quality food at about UK prices with many well known UK brands available incuding frozen meals such as Pizza etc. The cooking facilities in no14 are very good similar to what would be at home. We enjoyed cooking almost every evening. There are however many good quality restaurants within easy walking distance of the Art Studios which we have in the past visited.
We found the layout of the apartment ideal with the bedroom and bathroom downstairs it being cooler after a day in the sun. The enclosed balcony was a favourite place for us where we ate breakfast, watched the antics of the wild birds, sat and read books in the afternoon with a sample of the local brew. The apartment was cared for by the local team and they made us feel so welcome, you could not ask for any better care and attention.
We have enjoyed our visit to the Island of Barbados and for us the apartment no 14 completely met with our expectations. Many thanks for a great holiday.
Owner's Response: We do our best to give an honest description of our apartment, so that our guests know what to expect. Unfortunately the sea view is not always seen, the bushes and trees tend to grow very quickly and can occassionally block some of the view.
It is great when people enjoy Art Studios so much that they want to return. The staff are dedicated and work very hard to make your visit enjoyable.

The apartment was perfect for our first visit to Barbados. Not only was it well maintained and clean, with daily visits from the housekeeper, it was in a perfect location for the beach, bars, restaurants and shops in Holetown. The apartment was well equipped, homely and provided a great base for us to explore the island. We had everything we needed and loved it so much we're planning out next trip for 2010 and have recommended it to friends and family.

We have stayed in the apartment three times now. The description is accurate and the accomodation feels spacious. There is everything you need. The staff are wonderful and really look after things well: they are helpful and very considerate. The location is perfect as you just walk down the steps and onto the beach. It is excellent value for money and the owner takes great care to ensure that you are happy. We would have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone.

We had such a relaxed week at Art Studios, so relaxed in fact, that we lost a day somehow and missed our flight home...but that's a whole different story!

We loved the apartment, particularly the big balcony where we enjoyed many an evening beverage and competitive games of cards, before going out.The apartment was really clean, spacious and very well equipped with everything you could possibly need from a corkscrew to board games...

We didn't actually cook at all - only using the kitchen for breakfast preparation but there seemed to be everything there if you wanted to be domesticated..!

We appreciated the handbook left by the owners, which contained recommendations for restuarants, bars, taxis, bus services and basically everything you may need. We worked our way through the restaurant / bar recommmendations, all of which were great and had the most amazing night at The Cliff restaurant which remains one of my favourite places. Book a cliff side table if you can and look out for the Rays...

We didn't have a car but this didn't stop us getting around - we loved the bus to Bridgetown and taxis were easy to arrange.

We loved the proximity to the beach - you are very spoiled to literally have to walk a few steps before you hit sand. I would recommend a boat trip - we went to see the turtles and at the same time you get a great view of the coastline and can have a snoop at the famous Sandy Lane hotel which is very close by.

If you want a relaxing experience in a fab location doing as much or as little as you want, this is your place.

Art Studio, unit 14 - our place in the sun!

We've stayed in this unit for three weeks each winter for the past ten years or so. The Art Studio in general, and this unit in particular, have made us almost look forward to the coming of winter. The owners are very accommodating, returning e-mails on a same-day basis. The facility is in superb condition always. Those working there are terrific people. There are many restaurants and shops within walking distance. The Caribbean beach is about a minute away, down the lane. The main street is about a minute away in the other direction -- yet the Art Studio is a quiet location. Highly recommended, especially now that a wireless connection is available throughout. A great place for a winter vacation.
Owner's Response: One thing that is great about renting out the apartment is that people like Ed and Laurel are happy to come back year after year. We take notice of feedback and make improvements accordingly.
