It has a big hardwood deck and dining table nestling under a Mango tree. - - - - THE POOL APARTMENT has 1 bedroom and sleeps 2 adults + up to 2 children on folding beds in the living/dining room. It opens onto a tiled deck with loungers and a hardwood dining table. - - - - BOTH are set in an acre of glorious tropical gardens full of sweet scented Fangipani, Golden Palms, Mangos and passing Green Monkeys. - - - - MULLINS BEACH is 4 minutes stroll with lovely sand and a great beach restaurant. Gibbes beach is a hidden gem 800 yards away.

THE GARDEN APARTMENT has 3 air conditioned bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The master bedroom (No #3) has an ensuite and it's own private balcony overlooking the gardens. - - - - LARGE DECK: Outside there is a superb newly built (Sept 2008) 300 sq foot hardwood deck in Guyanese Purple Hart with a big dining table and chairs and plenty of comfortable seating - all under a large mango tree which is beautifully lit for relaxed outdoor night time dining. - - - - INDOORS: There is a light and airy living room / dining room / kitchen which is fully equipped. The beds and furnishings are a nice blend of hardwoods and colourful modern fabrics. - - - - ENTERTAINMENT FOR CHILDREN: The Garden Apartment has plenty to keep children happy. There is a large TV and DVD player, a toy box with a good selection of children's games and toys, plenty of books and DVDs plus a swing and rope ladder in the garden and bikes for ages up to 8.

a tropical oasis

We stayed with our 2 boys (6 and 8) over the Christmas period.The apartment is well designed and maintained to a high standard (equipment facilities and cleanliness).The lush gardens encourage wildlife and this was a source of great joy for our children-baby frogs, African snail beautiful birds and the occasional green monkey.It seemed a world away from the "other " Barbados with high rise buildings and hotels.We felt we were staying in a truly local residential area and it was fantastic to be able to stroll a short distance to the beach and also catch the local bus service up and down the coast road.We bought locally caught fish (including shark steaks!) from the nearby stall and barbequed them in the evening.The apartment is quiet and we slept well- the rum cocktails may have played a part!The air conditioning in the apartment works very efficiently and we were not disturbed by local road or neighbour noise.The apartment adjoins the main house but the layout ensures privacy and is well insulated regarding noise.The pool area is lovely and there is plenty of lawn space for playing ball and racket games.
Its hard to recommend this place highly enough -we are saving up to go back!

Lovely and relaxing

We had a really nice time staying at the Garden Apartment. The outdoor patio was a great place to enjoy food and drink and generally chill out. Mullin's beach, just down the road, is a fantastic beach and the food at Suga Suga is very good. My husband and I brought three 18 year old's with us and they had a great time as well. A few evenings we had food, prepared by a local cook, delivered to our apartment. It was tasty and exactly what we were in the mood for. We took the bus into Holetown many evenings, then we'd take taxi cabs back later at night. Taking the bus sort of makes you feel like a local!

Tropical Delight

We all spent untold hours just chilling out on the deck which is great. It looks out across the garden which we loved with its humming birds and the occasional visiting monkey. At night the air was filled with wonderful scent from the frangipani tree. The staff are really helpful and made us feel completely at home. The apartment had everything we needed and was very comfortable with nice furniture. Our favourite places to eat were Mullins Beach Bar and Casareep Cafe in Speightstown which had plenty of shops and is less than 2 miles away. The local fish market had some great marlin and tuna - at prices a fraction of what we would pay in England. The factsheets and maps provided by Sarah really helped us find our way around and get the most out of this lovely island. It's a great place to relax.
