Eating out: There are a variety of restaurants to suit all tastes. Some often on the sea and usually expensive are perfect to celebrate a special occasion. We have recently visited Carambola, The Fishpot and La Terra which has its own night-club and found them all good. In the medium price range The Waterfront in Bridgetown is very popular, on several nights there is jazz or a steel band. When you book ask for a cooler table out on the quayside. Lobster Alive in Bridgetown is also very casual, yes they do sell lobster. On the South Coast there are many medium priced category places for you to check out. There is a Mexican restaurant an Irish pub, Chinese and Pizza just to mention a few. The less expensive places on the South Coast are Cocomos, Pizzaz for pizza, and Cheffette. Often small local places offer good typically Bajan food.

The Beaches: There are many lovely beaches on the calm Caribbean West Coast. The nearest is Mullins Bay a 4 minute stroll away. Other favourites are Crane Beach on the Atlantic south coast. Here you can hire body boards from the lifeguard. Sunloungers/parasol rentals are available and it is such a lovely setting that you should take a picnic and spend the day. There are several linked beaches for you to walk and explore. Foul Bay on the same coast is the perfect place for a long breezy walk. Sandy Beach is also lovely. Here within the reef it is shallow and the perfect place to wade. It is usually calm and it is a great place to learn to wind surf. There are two beach bars right on the sand plus parking and a long stretch of beach for walking. Sunloungers/parasols are available for hire. Bathsheba is a very dramatic part of the island and well worth the drive. Highly recommended is the flying fish pate at The Round House Restaurant. There is usually music at lunch on Sundays.

Thanks again for the wonderful holiday in Barbados. We feel that we were in the part of the island we liked the most. Mullins, Gibbes and the neighbouring beaches are just perfect; isolated in places but with facilities like beds,
parasols and drinks when needed. It was also nice to have such an eclectic choice of eating establishments
so close to hand; from cheap and cheerful rum shacks like Chris's to the superb Mangos, all within a few minutes taxi ride.The apartment was just wonderful with everything you could possibly need and such delightful decorations and furnishings. Delia ,Eudine and Andrew provided just the right level of help. We would unreservedly recommend Casablanca and can't wait to make a return visit. D.G 1.07
The photographs on the website look wonderful but even they do not doit justice. The whole apartment has been decorated to a very high standard and is very well equipped - everything has been thought of to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. V.G. 07

Our Honeymoon magic

Peter and I had a truly romantic honeymoon at this wonderful apartment. We had everything we needed, a real home from home. We relaxed on the beach and by the pool. Next time we'll chill out more as we hired a car and saw most of the island. The restaurants are all wonderful and we wish we could pop over for dinner at some of our favourites. Everyone we met was friendly and helpful and we can't wait to come back again.

We visited for a week this Summer (2008). Property was beautiful, minutes walk away from the beach.

Also worth mentioning the excellent staff we met- manager was extremely helpful (phone messages if we were out/etc), and both cleaner and gardener were excellent.

The property is off a quiet side road from Mullins Bay, & with only 4 apartments sharing the pool was very private too. We hired a car for the week to make getting around during the day easier, but in the evenings used the taxi firm recommended. Again, these guys were excellent, drivers knew where the property was, friendly, happy to pick us up after meals & didn't mind waiting if we were a bit late.

All in, would definitely recommend this property to anyone looking to stay on the Island.

We can't add a lot that hasn't already been said by previous reviewers. We would recommend this apartment which is in a great spot - in a quiet residential area only a short stroll from the beach We never felt threatened at all The apartment is in a very safe area . The bus service is very good ( all over the island). The yellow local buses are a real treat - but hang on tight! The Cliff restaurant lives up to its reputation, spectacular and not wildly expensive - it's a "must do". The Fishpot in Little Good Harbour comes a close second and we also recommend Olives in Holetown (upstairs is best). Self catering is straightforward. The supermarkets sell Waitrose goods amongst others. Duty frees at the airport are excellent. Many shops sell duty free goods but take your passport. It was our first time in Barbados but it won't be the last. Have a great trip!!

Christmas 2007, New Year 2008

What can I say about Casablanca but Heaven? We arrived Christmas day on a time changed Virgin flight so ended up at the flat about 10.30 at night.

Casablanca was romantically lit up, the magnificent bed was turned down, the balcony doors were open to the lovely sound of the tree frogs. We both knew we were in for a treat. The furninishings and colours of the apartment are immediately relaxing to the eye.

Delia was on the phone next day (Manager of Casablanca) to check all was well and invite us to a Catamaran sail to snorkel and see the turtles. What a fantastic lady she is, her staff including Ina who looked after us and kept us in order were so professional yet friendly.

Mullins Bay is down the road so if you don’t want a Car immediately the walk is short and if you don’t want to meander down the road, just take a dip in the pool. Casablanca is readily equipped with towels for the beach as well as the pool, so you don’t have to pack your own

We had earlier ordered online from Super Centre and had groceries delivered, so we didn’t have to venture out next day, good service. The kitchen is so well equipped it is just like home from home

Unfortunately we had to take our Laptop for business and Barbados offers the equivalent of phone cards for Internet access, which we bought from Chubbies, so easy and no Internet café visits.

The Restaurants and local food spots are plentiful in choice and price; you could put on some weight if you don’t swim every day.

Casablanca is a one of the Gems in the Caribbean and we will be back as soon as we can.
