Cars and transportation: Although car hire is easily available - a car is NOT a necessity as the shopping centre and boutiques are a five minute walk away and there are at least 20 restaurants and bars within walking distance!Some guests choose to hire a car for just a couple of days just to take an island tour or to visit some particular attraction. The buses are plentiful and both locals and tourists travel on them By previous arrangement with the owner - airport pick up can be arranged - cost at time of writing $70 Barbados. Basic groceries can be put in the fridge with prior arrangement with the owner - to be paid for on arrival

Golf and tennis and sports: There are 5 golf courses on the island - two at Sandy Lane and one at Royal West Moreland (both on the West Coast) and Rockley on the South coast. Tennis is available at the hotel Discovery Bay which is an 80 yard walk along the beach from our apartment, it is also available at Folkstone Park a 10 minute walk - where the courts are free.Horseback riding is available, along with all varieties of water sports. There are also trips out to sea to view the endangered turtles. Fishing both near to shore and deep sea is also available. Snorkelling and scuba diving also available. The sea is normally calm and tranquil, suitable for children.

Shopping & restaurants: There is an air conditioned shopping centre a few minutes away,and duty free shopping is available at the local department store. There are at least 20 restaurants and bars, ranging from pubs and fast food to bistros and gourmet dining - all within walking distance. There is also a gourmet take away a 2 minute walk away - who also specializes in home baked bread and croissants! A bus into the city will take 20 minutes - and Bridgetown is full of historic buildings as well as restaurants and shops Taxis are plentiful. There are numerous tourist attractions, lots of which are ideal for children such as the Wild Life Reserve, and Harrisons Caves.Weather is 80 all year round with sunny blue skies and white puffy clouds - Not too hot or too cold.- Perfect for both time on the beach and 'outings'.

Other Activities: trips to visit the endangered turtles - and/or wildlife reserve - 2 museums, The Barbados Museum plus the Concorde Experience Museum

I have just returned from spending a week at the Condo and wish that I had been able to stay longer. The Condo is everything as described but it is impossible to appreciate the stunning location or views from the balcony and windows without a visit. I would have no hesitation in recommending this accommodation for a perfect stay in Barbados. The property is well maintained and a local lady and her husband were on hand to address any needs or queries. They were marvellous in ensuring that we had everything we needed to enjoy our holiday.
There are a number of restaurants etc. within a short walking distance and also access to regular, inexpensive public transport to enable visits to all parts of the island.
Swimming with the turtles, walking along the beach as sunset, watching the local monkeys in nearby trees and seeing the variety of visiting birds make this a very special holiday destination and location.
The owners of the property made the reservation i.e. booking of the Condo as simple as possible even to the point of arranging the provision of some groceries so that we could have our breakfast etc. on the first day without going shopping.
I have stayed at a number of four and five star hotels in Barbados in the past but my week at this Condo was a better/first class experience all round. One which I am keen to repeat in the near future.

Honeymoon Sept 2009

My husband and I were looking for a perfect location for our honeymoon when I came across this listing for a beachfront condo. You never can tell by descriptions and pictures because sometimes they can be deceiving, however this property was just as beautiful and in the perfect location, as described. The pictures do not convey how pretty this property is. The condo owners were very easy to work with and responded to all my questions and concerns right away. The condo was very clean and in fact to our surprise there was a maid service that came in a few times during the week, so we didn't have to worry about changing the sheets or using dirty towels for the whole time we were there. The nice thing we also realized after being there, this is the only condo that has a bright pink bush out side so its easy to see from the ocean when we were out doing water supports; we knew where we needed to head back with the jet skies. Since this is the only condo that has this view it was nice to relax at night and watch the sun go down right from the balcony. The condo owner has a local taximan that they use and it was nice to not have to worry about being picked up at the airport and dropped off. The price we paid for this condo was very reasonable for Barbados. We did not realize how expensive it was going to be when we got there, so that was a little disappointing, we were hoping to eat out a little more then we did, but it was more cost efficient to stay in a few nights. Which was easy to do since there is a full kitchen to use and a local grocery store with in walking distance. The pool area was very nice and was very warm and clean. Over all this was a great experience and I would recommend this location and condo to anyone. Thank you so much for a wonderful honeymoon.

Perfect Honeymoon Getaway!

This wonderful beachfront condo provided the perfect getaway for our honeymoon. The neighbors were friendly and helpful but not invasive. The flat was clean and tidy as described with maid service every couple of days. There is a pool on-site and, of course, the beach which is literally a stone's throw from the condo. There are shops and a supermarket within 5 minutes' walk from the condo for self-catering and souvenirs. Jet ski rentals are available right on the beach as well as boating trips to swim with turtles, etc. There are a number of restaurants and clubs down the street which could, on occasion, be a bit noisy but not enough to disrupt our time. We highly recommend a visit to ''Ragamuffins'' restaurant just down the road. Order the fish cakes...you won't be disappointed! We visited twice during our stay and would have gladly gone a third time if we could! In addition, the resort next door plays live music every evening until 11pm. If you're an early-to-bed kind of person, this might annoy you but we loved it! They play all sorts including jazz and motown favorites. Overall, this is a fantastic place to stay for couples and families of all ages and we highly recommend it!! You won't be disappointed!

A view to die for

very accurate in description of property. Location ideal facilities in condo excellent. Vita the maid keeps the place very clean and tidy. Plenty of choice to eat out and also close to super market if you want to eat in. Excellent water sports right on your door step and the beach is so clean and not crowded at all. Local people are really friendly and it is so easy to drive as it's on the same side of the road as UK. What more can I say best holiday we have ever had.

A wonderful choice!

My wife and I recommend the Beachfront Condo in lovely Barbados. It has become our favourite getaway, and we look forward to returning there again and again.

We loved the place so much when we saw and read about it on-line, we decided to get married right there on the beach before we’d even seen it in person – and we have no regrets!

The beach is lovely, the surroundings are perfect to unwind in, and the hospitality-from-afar shown by the absentee hosts makes you feel like you really are at home. All the amenities you need to live are there, and if you pre-order, you can have the food-basics waiting for you on arrival.

Gift shops, grocery stores, “Flindt’s Bistro”, banks, pubs, diving facilities, wineries, and liquor stores all are just around the corner, and world-renowned restaurants, like “Tides” are a short walk away.

After enjoying another sun-drenched day on the sandy beach, let the music from neighbourhood steel drum bands serenade you over dinner on your patio while you watch the beautiful sunset. Then let the waves softly wash ashore as they lull you to sleep… What else could you want?! This IS heaven!

Be sure to book early, as it does sell out by repeat guests (like us!) well in advance.
