Art Studio is a secure small complex of apartments in an enviable position on the west coast close to Holetown, St. James. Nestled between the popular Sandpiper Hotel and Discovery Bay Beach Hotel with direct beach access, the beautiful gardens are a blaze of colour the whole year round and the well-established plants give plenty of opportunity to find a secluded shaded space. The garden loungers and chairs may be taken to the beach, and the staff will be happy to assist you. The garden also has a brick built barbeque, outside showers, large private car park. The apartments are cleaned daily with the bed linen and towels changed twice weekly. We do provide beach towels. There are large bound folders in the apartments giving comprehensive information on how to get the most from your time on the island. Each apartment is perfect for 2 people and as the apartments are next to each other could be combined to suit a family.

The main area has a dining table, 4 padded chairs, table lamps. 2 large single beds, bedside table and shelves, large wardrobe space. The kitchen area has a breakfast bar, 2 stools, large fridge freezer, cooker, microwave, kettle, toaster, cafetiere, and liquidiser for making those long cool Caribbean cocktails. Large selection of quality cookware, glassware, china and utensils. There is a very quiet and efficient ceiling fan. Ironing table and iron, wall mounted digital safe. The bathroom is fully tiled, the large walk in shower has glass sliding doors. There is a large well lit mirror, shaving point, hair dryer. Ceiling fan.

PLACES OF INTEREST

Barbados is so much more than a beach location. In 1627 the first British Settlers landed, just 100 yards or so from where Art Studio now stands. The nearby beautiful St. James Parish Church was first built in 1628. Nelson's Column by the Parliament Buildings in Bridgetown, pre-dates that in Trafalgar Square, London. Plantation Houses and blue plaqued heritage sites of historical interest, many of which are open to the public, can be found throughout the Island. Here, cricket is not just a sport, it is a passion. The best known of all West Indian cricket grounds, Kensington Oval, is just a 10 minutes drive away. Barbados has gained the reputation of being the finest in the Caribbean for golf, with championship standard courses at Sandy Lane, Royal Westmoreland and Royal Barbados Golf Clubs. Barbados is an Island of great contrasts. You will find a large bound folder in the apartment, giving comprehensive information on all leisure, sporting, and recreational activities

We are most fortunate to enjoy the services of a very professional and friendly staff. Arrangements can be made for a member of staff to meet you at the Airport, transport you to the apartment and generally see that you are comfortable. We can also arrange for groceries, drinks etc. to be purchased on your behalf for your arrival day. very reasonable price. When leaving, we will not ask you to vacate the apartment prior to your departure, and a member of staff will return you to your point of destination, should you wish. Barbados is very well served by a public bus service, which is both frequent and inexpensive. The nearest Bus stops are close by. Our air conditioned Land Rover Discovery may be available as part of a separate package.

Eating out / eating in

You will find the latest edition of 'Menu Barbados' in the apartment, giving the most comprehensive information on restaurants throughout the Island. Sample menus and prices are listed. This is an extract from the Sandpiper Hotel, situated right next to us on the beach: 'The Sandpiper has always been considered one of the island's finest restaurants. Chef Christophe Poupardin and his team continue to earn a distinguished reputation amongst visitors and locals alike. Fresh fish and the finest local and imported ingredients are used to create menus, which change daily.' Many of the more popular and widely acclaimed restaurants are in the Parish of St. James and quite a number within a 5 minutes walk. There is a separate section detailing Dinner shows / nightclubs / karaoke / sports bars. For a night in without the cooking, we can arrange and thoroughly recommend an authentic Bajan gourmet extravagance of local delicacies, freshly cooked and brought piping hot to your apartment.
