Easy to find and good access off the paved Northside Rd. An hour+ N-E from Scarborough and the airport along the Caribbean coast. 10 minutes N-E of the charming village of Parlatuvier, between the Bloody Bay Junction and L'Anse Formi. A short drive along the new road to lovely Charlotteville. Good local restaurants within a 20 minute drive, the nearest being 2 km away. Bloody Bay beach, although fortunately undiscovered by visitors, is a favourite with the locals. Not only is it great for pulling seine, cricket games and Sunday picnics, it is wonderful for swimming, snorkeling and body surfing. The beach slopes gently into the water and is shallow, firm sand below foot for easy access.

Notes: 'COASTING' villa is a romantic retreat for a couple, offers privacy for 2 couples and ideal for a family. It is designed for comfortable, indoor/outdoor tropical living. The main floor, at entry level, features an open concept living area complete with an airy working kitchen, indoor dining and living areas. Double french doors extend this living space outdoors, onto a large covered deck overlooking the pool and, of course, the sea. A bedroom, with queen size bed and 3 pc ensuite, is also located on the main floor. Two bedrooms, separated by a powder room, are located on the lower poolside level. The master bedroom opens onto the pool and outdoor shower. The final room is a child's bedroom (single bed). Both levels feature covered outdoor patios. A large open air deck is on the lower level, perfect for sunbathing or star gazing. The entire building is cooled by offshore breezes and shade, provided by extensive covered decks and mature trees. All rooms have wonderful sea views.

COASTING: Past the hotels, past the city heat, past the tourist areas... A little further along the coast to where the waiting pirogues are laden with seine nets, the sea turtles swim and the frigate birds circle around you. A little further along the road to where the vegetation is a deeper shade of green, the rivers flow in the dry season and the mot mots glide by at eye level. Treat yourself to something truly unique. This is the real Tobago. Beautiful, intimate, private!

Other Activities: bird watching, local waterfalls, snorkeling, rain forest and river hikes, deep sea fishing, boating. Golf and surfing within a reasonable drive.

Coasting is a beautiful villa complementing its surroundings overlooking Bloody Bay and the backdrop of the lush rainforest.The villa is well equipped to provide an extremely comfortable holiday home supported by friendly caretaker and housemaids.A car is essential for touring(take note of petrol station locations,and watch out for potholes in roads that make driving lively)and for buying provisions from supermarkets or roadside stalls.The stalls provide good quality inexpensive produce.Seafood is easily obtained from fishmarkets in many villages and from local fishermen.A walk through the rainforest with a local guide is a must. Snorkling/scuba diving from one of the hire boats at the south end of the island or from Speyside at the north end (equipment for hire),whether first time or serious diver,the guides ensure you are in safe hands.Pirates Bay at Charlottville is a good bay for snorkling but has no facilities so take or hire equipment.Some restaurants we found good are Riverside at Parlatuvier,Sharon & Phebs at Charlottville and the Blue Crab in Scarborough,just some of the many offering great food.At Castara on Thursday and Saturday you can buy fresh baked bread from a wood fired clay oven.Its really great and freezes well.
The very helpful and friendly owners of Coasting have compiled a folder of invaluable information about the Island giving local contacts,beaches and walks recommended in the locality of the Villa enabling you to enjoy the less commercial Tobago at its best.This has been our third time at Coasting so if you are looking for a memorable holiday in a Tropical Paradise whether relaxing in the lovely garden,watching the birds or just enjoying the views, Coasting is the place for you. Tropical paradise with home comforts

Coasting totally lived up to its promise, well equipped, clean and stylish the property had a comfortable family home feel with enough space for our family to spread out. The owners are friendly and very helpful as are the locals just up the road at the village of Bloody Bay. A car is essential and its best to stock up with some provisions at the supermarket near the airport as soon as possible. Local shops are reasonable but have limited choice. Nearby villages provide lovely fresh fish and fruit and veg can be bought for very little from roadside vendors. Restaurants tend not to have a menu but offer a reasonably priced meal of chicken or fish which is usually excellent and local - no chips or burgers!
There is lots of information at the villa guiding you to the best beaches, restaurants and places to visit - a week is not quite enough to cover it all so if you can - take two.
We much enjoyed a walk in the rainforest with knowledgable local guide - Darlington; diving with manta rays at speyside and the glass bottom boat trip to little tobago bird sanctuary. Best of all was Englishmans Bay just a few minutes drive, tropical deserted paradise with the best snorkling ever! Enjoy.
