View! View! View! Wonderful Sunsets and sooo many Stars!
This review is not to discourage but to inform. Just spent two weeks in this apartment and would not recommend it for no longer than 3 - 4 days. I toughed it out the first week, the second week I was ready to leave; it almost ruined my vacation. When you prepay there are no refunds if you decide, this is not for you.The apartment is secluded, and has a romantic setting, but after several days it becomes too isolated and boring. However, the grounds are beautiful and well maintained, and the lovely artwork can be appreciated! It has no air condition and the ceiling fan is too small and barely working, at night there is no air circulating. The apartment is very small with old uncomfortable mattresses and has springs poking through. Sheets are worn thin and check the towels underneath...It is made of two twin beds scooted together, which cuts down the center. The bathroom has wood that holds a foul damp smell. The view from the terrance is spectacular, but that can be found throughout the island. This location has no fruit trees, so bring your own fruit, but the cashew tree has nuts crashing on the rooftop all day and night. The bugs will attack at dark!! huge bugs! bugs! bugs! A giant black moth I thought was a bat. Perfect if you like bugs...
A car is a must! The location is on a very steep, rocky, pothole and narrow cliff incline, very scary driving, impossible at night. No walking from the villa, unless you are in marathon shape. It cost about $25.00 taxi to ride uphill from town. The villa is GREAT for nature lovers..two small frogs hopped from under the bed one night, and two lizards were in the shower with me! It feels more like a nice camping resort. The pool is too deep for none swimmers. It is 7 ft + No TV, bring your own towels, deck card, tick tac toe, and a blow up mattress, forget about the BBQ...not happening. Alvin is very nice, he is the grounds keeper. The nearest beach is at Anse Chastanet resort, it is nice, but remember if you walk down you have to hike back up! The Still has a nice restaurant. Overall, quite the adventure...
