This is an ideal destination for those who are looking to benefit from the rich monumental heritage and natural beauties of the nearby Central Dalmation mainland (Diocletians Palace, Trogir, Salona, Klis, Vranjaca Cave, Krka Falls...), whilst enjoying at the same time the charms of staying in a small island town.
Brac is the largest island in Central Dalmatia at 150 square miles (394 square km), the third largest in the Adriatic, and is one of the sunniest with 2,700 hours of sun annually. The small places on the island are bound to fascinate each traveller with the beauty and purity of their traditional architecture.
There are numerous opportunities for walks and excursions on the island: Blaca Desert, Vidova Gora, Zlatni Rat (the most beautiful beach in Croatia), Museum of Brac in Skrip, stone masonry school in Pucisca...Every place on Brac has its own beauty and appeal!
How to get there:
There are several options for how to get to split, but by far the easiest route is by flying direct to Split. There are now several operators offering a direct service including British Airways, Easyjet, Westernair, Excel and Wizz. From Split Airport, you can hire a car or get a bus or taxi to the port (25km).From here, ferries transfer you to the Island of Brac every hour in peak season. Sailing time is just 45 minutes.
Once on the Island, the apartments are an easy 1km walk or get a taxi. Car hire can be taken just outside the port in Supetar if required.
A more adventurous route for travelling to Split is by flying to Ancona in Italy with Ryanair and then take the night ferry to Split with sem. If you need help in organising travel arrangements, please do not hesitate to contact me
