A truly luxurious four-storey villa, set back from a auiet, pretty quayside on the charming island of Vis. This is an old house in the beautiful Venetian-style architecture of Vis, which has been stylishly renovated to a high standard. Fabulous views from our top-floor terrace over the picturesque bay of Vis with its monastery, islets, harbour side yachts and the turquoise sea. From the villa's top terrace you can sip your drinks or have a meal watching the sun set over the far side of the bay. Both king-size bedrooms have similar breath-taking views, and one of the bedrooms has a further sea-front terrace with views. It would suit couples and older families who want a completely different holiday, dislike commercialisation, and enjoy really good food and wine. They may also have an interest in history (lots of naval history), sailing, diving (Greek, Roman and 16c/17c/18c wrecks), vineyards, ecology (said to be the only totally organic island in the world) and incredible ice-cream.

The island of Vis was cut off from the outside world until the late 1980's, and so has none of the commercialisation usually associated with an attractive island. Its development is now carefully protected, so there are no monolithic hotels or modern 'villa parks' - just a genuine Mediterranean island with cobbled streets, Venetian architecture, and a relaxed friendliness. Yet it's only a two-hour ferry ride from Split, with around three ferries per day, and there are now plenty of cheap flights to Split.

  • Both bedrooms have plenty of room and are properly equipped with spacious wardrobes (loads of hangers!), 2 bedside tables and lamps, chest of drawers, chair, and of course have lovely views from the large windows. The first floor bedroom also has its own terrace looking over the harbour and bay which is furnished with four pretty cane chairs and a table. We can also offer a high-quality blow-up bed if, for example, there were three children and they preferred to sleep in the same room. The bedrooms are suitable for two couples - using the king-size beds in each room, or, they can suit a couple with two friends/children, as in the first floor bedroom the king-size bed will separate into two singles (it's a top quality zip and link king-size).

There is also the top terrace, on the third floor, which has space for dining x 6 plus relaxing. The kitchen and small living area are also on the third floor. Just to be clear, there is no garden!
