Pisak is a picture postcard little fishing village, set back in time, that comes alive in the high season but is a quiet retreat off season and with wonderful traditional restaurants. Set in a countryside of contrasts, the craggy mountains behind giving the adventure holiday seeker opportunities to para glide and rock climb. Or for keen walkers to trek the mountain Biokovo with its ancient villages along the path. The pine forest in the lower reaches then gives way to olive and citrus groves around the village. You can visit Brela on the Makarska Riveria, also known as the Pearl of the Adriatic. Makarska is well known for its night life including traditional Dalmatian food and music nights. Just close by in Omis is the Cetina river which offers rafting. Omis is a picturesque historic town which dates back to the Roman period and is well worth a visit. Day trips to Split, Mostar and Dubrovnik are recommended for the holidaymaker interested in seeing the sites of Dalmatia and beyond
