342 sunshine days a year... Paphos, known as the culture capital of Cyprus, this ancient town is set in the South West of the Island, on a sunning stretch of coastline with a hinterland of sub-tropical banana plantations and citrus groves. Although Paphos has rapidly developed into a popular resort it still retains its charm and character and has much to keep visitors occupied, with lots of ancient sites, and monuments to explore. It is the ideal town for combining the pleasures of sightseeing, with the relaxing beach life with its sandy beaches and crystal clear water. In contrast to the old town of Paphos with its traditional tavernas, open air cafes and market place, it has a wealth of international restaurants, bars and clubs, which stretch from the picturesque fishing harbour in Kato Paphos with its ancient Roman breakwater and 16th century Venetian fort, all along the coastal road to Coral Bay
