Delightful studio as featured in BBC GOOD HOMES 2009 and Bistro

I don't normally write reviews but felt I must to address some of the comments made by the previous reviewer. We stayed at Yazade House from 22nd September 2011 for 10 days.

We are independent travellers and we like our privacy and we normally try to avoid British hosts after a rather ghastly experience in Italy. So, here is my honest and objective review:

Cliff and Kay were delightful and gracious hosts and did their utmost to make us welcome and comfortable and respect our privacy. Kay stayed up well after midnight to welcome us when we arrived and even let us use their private accommodation for the last evening as we had night flights both ways.

The room is compact but well thought out and equipped, as is obvious from the photos which give a true impression. The bathroom is not huge but perfectly adequate with a nice big shower which enjoys good water pressure and plenty of hot water, both of which are more important to me.

I heard the water pump too, having worked out what it was I just turned it off overnight. Problem solved! And yes there is a Mosque nearby, I noticed the call to prayer on the first morning and not really after that. In any case, it's part of the local environment - like church bells in England on a Sunday morning.

There is a restaurant and on busy nights the tables can be close to the Summer House; Cliff and Kay and their staff always tried to minimise any intrusion and we rather enjoyed sitting on our terrace (often with a complimentary drink!) and people watching. We go to bed quite early, about 10 p.m., and I can honestly say that we were not disturbed by noise from the restaurant at all, in any case most diners did not seem to stay very late.

The only thing I would add is that if you hire a car, parking locally can be difficult as it is a residential area with narrow streets.

A taxi was arranged for us from the airport by the proprietors and on arrival we had been double booked, so we had to book into a hotel on the promise that we would be picked up in the morning and transferred to Yazade. The next morning we had a phone call stating could we arrange a taxi as they could not pick us up. On arrival we were shown to the summer house, which was a small room with a kitchenette. Off the room was a very small super room with a narrow passageway for the toilet and washbasin. Every 30minutes or less a noise from the water tank on the roof filling was heard day and night and just when you dropped off to sleep the call to prayer from the mosque just a few doors away rang out.
From 7 in the evening the staff arranged about 12 tables around the swimming pool and outside our room for a restaurant for outsiders and residents making it a public area and was not very private
Not a very good experience

We have just returned from a week spent in the delightful Yazada House, The setting is tranquil, tasteful and totally relaxing. Sunbathing in the day is in a walled garden around a centre swimming pool. Figs, jasmine, olive and pomegranate provide welcome shade. The area is transformed at night into no14, an open-air, candlelit, fine restaurant that is gaining a dererved local reputation. I invited a local ex-pat friend and she wasa excited to come having heard such good reports. The food was delicious - she was entranced.
Our air-conditioned rooms were very well appointed and had private outside space overlooking the pool.
What made the holiday, though, was the thoughful consideration of the hosts Kay and Clifford, Nothing was too much trouble - all was ease and leisure.
They tell me they will retire in a couple of years...Beat a path to their door before it's too late!
