Protaras holiday house: Pernera

Stayed at this villa in July and, as expected, very, very hot. The area was very pleasant but although a car is not necessary (there is a bus service), it is strongly advisable. The local beach is within easy walking distance but recommend swimming shoes as it is very rocky wading into the water. The taverna at the beach is excellent. The villa itself is very nice but a few points worth mentioning - air conditioning is only in the bedrooms, not the main living area or the self contained basement apartment. Very disappointed in the fact that, although we paid a considerable rental, we had to start moving the owners clothing from wardrobes in order that we could unpack!! I suggest the owner takes this on board. The final problem was the owner's taste to display pictures all over the villa of various women in states of undress, quite obviously taken in the villa itself - even one of a semi naked woman draped in the baby's cot, which was then hanging above the cot in the children's bedroom. Extremely inappropriate and quite offensive. Unfortunately, this appears to have been brought to the owner's attention in the past with no results. Bear this in mind if booking this villa.
