About Cyprus:
The third largest island in the Mediterranean, Cyprus is an island of contrasts. From cool, pine clad mountains with unspoilt, traditional villages to buzzing, sun kissed beach resorts, Cyprus has something for everyone. The Cypriots are a very friendly bunch of people, many of them speaking perfect English. And, even better news, they drive on the left and the traffic is light, so hiring a car to explore the delights of the island is not a problem. July and August see daytime temperatures in the 30's - perfect for those looking for a sun kissed, relaxing, beach holiday. For those looking for a cooler holiday, choose May, June, September or October, when temperatures will be in the 20's. Frequent the holiday resorts or head off the tourist track and head for the villages, whatever takes your fancy, Cyprus has it.
About Pernera:
Located on the eastern side of the island, Pernera is a perfect holiday destination. There is always plenty going on, without it being too rowdy. Pernera is blessed with a string of small, sandy beaches, each located in a small cove and, each with its own charm. For food lovers, there are excellent restaurants offering cheap, but excellent quality local dishes - try the Fish Meze. There are also Italian, Mexican, Chinese and English Pub restaurants. As for bars, well there is bound to be one with a theme to suit you - most of which have Internet access for those that need their surfing fix. And if you want a break from the pools and the beaches that are on your doorstep, Pernera is the hub for a wide range of attractions within a short ride.
Things to see and do:
Within walking distance: A day on the beach - a day by the pool - a day at the water park - scuba diving - a boat trip along the coast - hire a car - catch a bus - grab a taxi.
Within driving distance (hire car, taxi or bus): Protaras - the delightful Fig Tree Bay beach and the lively Protara Strip, with its bars, restaurants and clubs. Ayia Napa - its famous white, sandy beaches - and the Water Park, the largest of its kind in Europe. Troodos Mountains - Tranquillity and unspoilt villages and spectacular scenery - and skiing in the winter too! Famagusta - A deserted 'Ghost Town' since 1974, look down on it from Pernera, or cross the border to have a look around and walk the gorgeous sandy beach.
