Beadnell Harbour walls built in 1790's where the lime kilms of that date still remain, excellent sandy beaches and safe yatching in wide Beadnell Bay. Some of best diving /sailing on the coast is said to be here. Beadnell is mid way along heritage coast, scenic walks along the coast to Newton by the Sea, spectacular ruins of Dunstanburgh Castle, then on to Craster for kippers. Alnwick, Bamburgh, Warkworth castles all within short distance, visit Alnwick Garden and dine in the tree house. Berwick Border town, Chillingham Castle, Etal Miniture railway, Floors castle all within 20 mile radius are just a few of so many wonderful things on your doorstep.

June 2006 Mary,Martin Forrest and Oscar Dog-we had a great week,cottage very comfy and great to be greated by nesting swallows, beach walks great!

We had a great week at Church Cottage

Extremely well-appointed - including swallows' nest in the porch! Cottage is much bigger than it appears from the exterior view - so well equipped, I could have given a dinner party for 8 people. As it was, the 3 of us (me, DH and 85 year old mother) were wonderfully comfortable. Abiding memory is walking up the beach from Seahouses towards Bamburgh before 9.00am, in glorious sunshine, just us (and a few dog walkers). We peered into rock pools and squinted at sea birds through binoculars. The Tower Hotel (2 minute stagger from cottage) serves great food. Don't miss: the cruise around the seal colony (we were too late for the puffins - they leave by the end of August). Can't wait to come back to this wonderful part of the world.

Lovely cottage!

Cottage in Beadnell was a delight, much bigger than we expected and decorated and furnished to a very high standard. Equipped with everything you could possibly need, even outdoor toys and bbq tools! The heating in the cottage was spot on, and a lovely coal fire in the evenings.Despite welcoming dogs ( we don't have one) the cottage didn't smell 'doggy'.
Location was excellent, opposite a village green and behind a lovely church. Two pubs and a cafe very close. For bigger shops and more restaurants Seahouses just 2 miles away. Perfect for sightseeing in the area, Holy Island 30mins and Alnwick about the same.

Lovely cottage, very cosy and near to the beach and pub for a nice meal. everything you nead was in the cottage to make life easy. perfect for people with a pet dog as garden was fully closed in.
Would recomend to family and friends and hope to go back next year.
