Pier Terrace is a Grade II Arts & Crafts Listed building in the colourful harbour village of West Bay, just two miles from the lively market town of Bridport. This third floor flat has breathtaking views from all windows, looking east and west along the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site from Portland Bill to Brixham. Pier Terrace is situated virtually on the harbour side with good pubs, shops and the famous Chesil Beach all within a stone’s throw. West Bay itself lies at the heart of an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty offering glorious coastal walks from the doorstep.

This is an area surrounded by lovely green hills and pretty villages. You are actually on the glorious South West Coast path, and both serious walkers and strollers will find many more paths to follow. There are famous gardens and much of historical and archaeological interest. Plenty of good eating places both modest and renown and a great variety of pubs. Those interested in buying excellent fresh local produce will, like Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall, not be disappointed in our food shops, street markets and farmers markets. Notes: The flat is not really suitable for very small chidren. You do have to pay for your own electricity. This can be as little as £4 a week in the summer, but may be more in winter if you hit a cold spell and want to do a lot of cooking.

Car Free Break: West Bay is Ideal for those wanting a car free break. There are taxis from stations at Axminster, Crewkerne & Dorchester. I could arrange for a car to collect you if you prefer. The bus service to Bridport is frequent,& there is a double decker bus that travels along the coast road from Bournemouth to Exeter, ideal for walkers or visiting Lyme Regis or simply enjoying the views.

All you need: There is a large grassed area for the use of all the flats. There free is parking fifty yards away for the flats which is on afirst come basis. West Bay has a general store, launderette, fish shop, & butchers,cafes, restaurants & pubs. There is a large supermarket a mile away. Two miles away is Bridport, a lively town with a street market two days a week & traditional & exotic shops.

Some thing to do: West Bay lies at the heart of an Area Of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and offers wonderful coastal walks,and the lovely Dorset hills and villages inland. There is Golf and sea fishing on the door step. Gardens to visit, and an abundance of history, all within a radius of fifteen miles. Maybe the fossil hunting bug will get you, or you may prefer to do absolutely nothing, West Bay is good for that to.

We had a wonderful week in West Bay. The accommodation and communication from the owner was excellent.

Although we booked the week of the heatwave i was surprised at how cool the flat was with the windows open and the lovely breeze off the sea. We enjoyed lots of fresh fish and my husband loved the golf at Bridport, Chard and Lyme Regis.

I plan to return so we can visit more of Dorset. I highly recommend the Seagull Restaurant and the fresh fish!

If you get a chance to visit Monkey World it's worth it, but with Lyme Regis watch out for the hills and narrow roads.

Pier Terrace - a perfect holiday

Location perfect. Harbour on one side, beach on the other. Magnificent views from all rooms. Apartment spotless, with a vase of fresh flowers to greet us on arrival. Beds comfy & made up, plenty of towels, and notes to say where we could find extras. Would definitely recommend to others, but would like to keep this jewel to ourselves. Weather was great so we spent whole week in West Bay - car never moved. Plenty places to eat in village, but our best meal was at the Three Horseshoes in Burton Bradstock. Couldn't have asked for more from the owner.
