Photos and Description of this London holiday apartment 3 bedroom, 2 reception, 2 bathrooms. Sleeps 5 (+1)

This three-storey apartment was built in 1698 and is a very rare survival of Old London. It has wood-panelled walls, working window-shutters, a pretty staircase, and it is appropriately furnished. It is extremely central and within walking distance of the British Museum and London University, and Covent Garden, theatres, shops and restaurants are all within easy reach. The area is central but surprisingly quiet and there is a children’s' garden/playground nearby. This is a family home, available to rent at reasonable rates, and it is suitable for visitors who would enjoy the experience of living in an ancient building in an historic part of central London. We welcome children and there is a large selection of children’s books available. And by living so centrally you will not only save lots of money on public transport but precious time as well!

Notes: The flat is entered from a street door that leads to stairs to the first floor. Here you will find a large dining room, kitchen, laundry area and WC. Stairs up lead to the large living room, the main bedroom (5ft double bed) with en-suite bathroom, more stairs lead to a twin bedroom (2 very comfortable single beds) and a single bedoom (with extra long single bed - very comfortable. There is another WC and bathroom (with over-bath shower) on this floor. There is also a folding bed (with comfortable mattress!) making it possible for a 6th person to stay. There are quite a lot of stairs and these are rather uneven. The age of the property means that few of the floors are level and not all the doors and windows fit very well - loads of character - this flat is 300 years old and has many quirks that come with great age!

We also rent out a 15th century medieval barn, and a 17th century converted stables and a medieval Bee House in the countryside, and a tiny Weaver's Cottage in the market town of Castle Cary only 90 minutes by train from London. From our Guest Book: 'A dream location and a dream home! A great old house with amazing charm - it made our stay in London so much more memorable.' 'This was a real find! A wonderful location, very homely and convenient. With a 22 month old who had a midday sleep this was a dream place as one of us could stay, spread out and relax whilst the others went exploring. Who'd go back to a B&B? Its very quiet for central city.' 'We've been extremely pleased and impressed with this flat and its amenities. The simple pleasing decor, the furnishings and rugs (like your grandparents used and cherished) the utter cleanliness of everything. We couldn't have asked for better!' 'The house was beautiful and the location - being able to walk most places was excellent. It made the trip even better having been able to stay in a rustic old house.' 'Our second stay this year and it was just as great as the first. The location can't be beat both for centrality and the street's appeal.'

Other Activities: There is a gym almost opposite the apartment.
