The British Museum is 10 min by bus as well as the Charles Dickens Museum, placed in the building where he wrote Oliver Twist. London's West End with its fabulous shopping (Oxford St, Regent St), theatres, art galleries and landmarks (Trafalgar Square, Piccadilly Circus, Big Ben) is also close by. Covent Garden with its street theatre, opera house and shopping is an easy walk. Heading east, you can stroll around the City of London, Europe's financial centre with its famous buildings (St Paul's Cathedral, the Gherkin, Tower of London, Wren churches). To the South, the London Eye, Tate Modern and South Bank. For children, the Batterssea park, a delightful park with swings, slides, climbing frames, sand pit, a Zoo and astro-turf football pitches. Nearest tube stations are Pimlico & Sloane Square.
