Southole Barns are beautifully situated at the top of a sheltered south facing valley in a designated Coastal Preservation Area and an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The Barns have a peaceful and secluded setting and enjoy amazing views over the surrounding countryside. The properties have been refurbished to a high standard over the last 6 months. The South West Coastal Path is easily accessible from the property, through National Trust land within 25 metres, which provide uninterrupted cliff top and coastal walks with this rugged coastline renowned for its dramatic scenery and breathtaking sea views. It is also close to the Hartland Heritage Coast. The Barns are a courtyard of former Victorian farm buildings that have been beautifully converted to form our home and an attractive range of four self catering barn conversions. These sit within 2.5 acres of meadow land with a charming stream fed pond and surround a cobbled and slate courtyard filled with flower beds and borders.

Roseland Barn is a charming West facing single storey barn conversion with a master bedroom (double bed) and a twin bedroom, dining room, shower room (baby bath available on request), galley kitchen, wood flooring throughout and a cosy and comfortable living room with a quirky traditional cast iron electric fire. Views from the pretty courtyard on one side and over open farmland from the dining room and bedrooms. (Sleeps: 4 / also able to accommodate a baby cot) ALSO AVAILABLE AT A REDUCED RATE FOR COUPLES ONLY FROM 5th SEPTEMBER TO 19th DECEMBER 2009 AND FROM 2nd JANUARY TO 22nd MAY 2010.

Southole Barns are located in the small hamlet of Southole within the Parish of Hartland and 1 1/2 miles from unspoilt Welcombe Mouth Beach. The village of Welcombe is less than 1 mile away with its Church, Village Hall, Pottery, our Community Shop and a Thatched Public House 'The Old Smithy Inn' which is well known for good food within the area. The Barns are 3 miles from the A39 (Atlantic Highway) which gives easy access to the North Devon and Cornwall coastlines, to seaside resorts such as Bude, Widemouth Bay and legendary Tintagel as well as King Arthur's Castle. The picturesque fishing port of Padstow, home to Rick Stein's restaurant is also along this coast.

    The Romantic Retreat tariff allows couples or a young family: 2 adults or 2 adults + infant (baby cot) to enjoy one of our larger barns, Roseland Barn or Clovelly Barn at the same rate as Week St. Mary Barn.
    This only applies when a couple (or a couple + infant) are sharing the Master Bedroom.
    The Twin Bedroom must remain untouched during your stay. Contact the owner for availability.
