Out and About:
As well as being a superb area for walking and touring, the Peak District includes historic gems such as Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall as well as a number of National Trust Properties. Many sports are available locally including climbing, pot holing, sailing, paragliding, golf, fishing etc, etc. For the children, theme parks include Alton Towers, Heights of Abraham, Gulliver's Kingdom, The American Adventure and Drayton Manor.
Golf Courses:
Darwin Forest is close to a number of excellent golf courses where visitors are welcome. In particular, Tapton Golf Club in Chesterfield offers excellent facilities on its 27 hole course. Matlock Golf Club allows visitors to play mid-week on its 18 hole course, tel +44 (0)1629 582191. This hilly and challenging course is just 3 miles from the Park.
