The Roseland is one of the little know gems of Cornwall. From tranquil sandy beaches, picturesque fishing villages and hamlets to sub-tropical gardens. Quayway is a comfortable family cottage set in a superb position, having uninterrupted sea and countryside views. The well appointed interior is bright and has neutral tones throughout. The living area is a perfect place to relax, having 2 large leather sofas and oak furniture. Large picture windows frame the ever-changing sea views. An enclosed double aspect deck, master bedroom balcony and garden are ideal for alfresco dining - all with quite outstanding views, facing south to south west.. There are BBQ grill facilities in the garden.

Quayway is set in a lovely peaceful position, approached along a private road through the grounds of a manor house. The pretty fishing village of Portscatho is a little over a mile away and has glorious views across the harbour towards Porthcurnick beach. Nearby St Mawes is a haven for boats and yachts and has an excellent choice of restaurants, pubs and cafés. From the harbour take the scenic ferry crossing to Falmouth and visit the National Maritime Museum and Pendennis Castle. Attractions such as The Eden Project, St Michael's Mount, St Ives and Padstow are all within easy reach. Scenic walking routes are all around. - A path leads from the doorstep to a quay, having wonderful views along the way. Several sandy beaches and coves are nearby. Towan beach is a National Trust gem and is just 3 minutes drive away.

Beautiful views

The property was lovely, as were the views, and we really enjoyed our time there. The house was clean and well equipped, and there were lots of things to do in the surrounding areas. The Plume of Feathers in nearby Portscatho does excellent food, and provides a friendly service.

The only disappointment was discovering that the property is one of about 30 in the grounds of the big house, and there was less seclusion and privacy than we had been hoping for.

If you like cows, this is definitely the place for you, as the farmer's field directly in front of the property allows an excellent opportunity for cow-watching. It was thoughtful of the owners to provide fly-spray, as the cows seem to attract a lot of these.
