Beach House:
Beach House is situated 5 metres from the sandy beach at Portmellon Cove. The beach is totally unspoilt and cared for by the National Trust. It is great for swimming or bodyboarding and is perfectly safe for children as it is gently shelving. Children can also explore the rock pools with shrimping nets. There is a free slipway down to the beach for those wishing to sail or water-ski. There is a traditional Cornish boatyard next door, which once built boats for Princesses Elizabeth and Margaret, and is now home to The Mevagissey Rowing Club. At the end of the day you can sit and relax on the wooden sundeck with a gin and tonic and watch the sunset. The local pub, The Rising Sun, is within staggering distance, as they say.
Mevagissey:
The picturesque fishing village of Mevavagissey is a short walk away. It is a working fishing village with fresh fish available from the quay everyday. There are daily mackerel fishing trips. Shark, conger eel and seabass fishing can also be organised. It's narrow streets have a number of shops and galleries and more than it's fair share of traditional pubs (there are at least 10 in an 800 metre radius). Mevagissey also has a range of good quality seafood restaurants serving fresh fish caught that day.
Cornwall:
There are many local sandy beaches nearby, such as the mile long Pentewan Beach where there is kite-surfing and wind-surfing.
