Quintole Cottage

This cottage is very pretty and is in a very rural location.
(We were a bit surprised to find some cardboard rubbish outside the house when we arrived but it was all to do with the recycling scheme which takes some getting used to. However it would have been a little better if this had been put somewhere else perhaps.)
It is a very well equipped and spacious cottage , there was plenty of room for the whole family with a large dining room and lounge-a bonus was the piano which we used ( some music was provided!) as well as the kitchen.
The owner contacted us (kindly) on our 2nd night to make sure we had found everything or if there were any difficulties.
The garden is huge and catches the evening sun and full use can be made of the plentiful garden equipment and BBQ if the weather is good. The front garden patio is lovely though there were a lot of wasps in the laurel bush. We spent mornings in the sun there entertained by lots of butterflies, a friendly robin and flocks of geese making their way back and forward - a bit noisy at 7 in the morning !
The kitchen had everything one requires for a holiday, even flasks. The dishwasher and washing machine a huge bonus.
Locally, Lerryn is a pretty village where the well equipped Post Office and shop provides for everyday needs as well as teas and delicious local ice cream and pasties. There is a pub with restaurant here too. Lovely walks and somewhere to watch the world go by.
The ferry at Bodinnick is a good shortcut to Fowey and saves time on the roads its only £2.70. Fowey is great for shopping for nautical clothing and gifts and has lovely galleries. (We liked the water taxi, and the ferry trip to Mevagissy!)
Because of the house location we did not eat out much but did not mind too much as we used the BBQ a couple of times and because the kitchen is so well equipped were able to cook without any difficulties.
Bedrooms were clean and comfortable, the double is especially roomy.
All in all if one is looking for a quiet spot to while away the time and visit some glorious countryside and you don't mind driving narrow lanes, enjoy lovely surroundings and a home from home then this is the place for you.
Other recommended places to visit :- Lanhydrock house (National Trust) Wenford - Bodmin steam train, Polperro,Restormel castle at nearby Lostwithiel ( also has an excellent Chinese Take away)
