With wonderful sea and Cornish countryside views, the house is situated on Pentire Headland. It's just 100m from the world-famous Fistral Beach with year-round surfing and life-guard patrols through the summer - and just 50m away is Newquay’s renowned links golf course. Set in a secure gated development, the house is furnished to an extremely high standard with modern decor. The cosy living room has a feature fireplace/living-flame gas fire and 32' widescreen TV/SKY+/DVD/VHS. The stylish fully fitted kitchen/diner includes gas hob, fridge freezer, dishwasher, and washing machine and utility room. French-style doors lead out to the sunny and totally private South-facing garden & deck - it's a real sun trap! The master bedroom has king size bed & LCD TV/DVD/Freeview, the 2nd bedroom has twin or super-king bed & LCD TV/DVD/Freeview. Plus there's a Z-Bed & cot/babybath/highchair. Excellent location (not in the town centre).
Fistral beach less than 5 minute walk.
Excellent house / garden - both nicely maintained.
All necessary facilities in place to make for a great holiday.
House booking and administration excellent.
Very sorry to leave - one week was not enough.

An ideal Cornish location

We found this property very clean and comfortable with the added bonus of secure gated parking. The kitchen was well equipped for a holiday situation and upstairs was quite roomy. Do not choose this property if you want to sit and enjoy sea views from the house as there is a derelict hotel and some flats being built between the house and sea. However, the location is good for walking into town or to the beach.
On a practical note we would suggest clients take some extra coat hangers if there are more than 2 in the party and plenty of towels as only 3 hand towels are provided.
Owner's Response: We appreciate all feedback as it helps us to maintain our high standards. Just to clarify a few of the points raised…
All guests are informed that Pentire House has good sea views (not panoramic), and that it is set back from the main ‘coastal road’, ie. not frontline.
The Fistral Bay Hotel is across the road from the Hatfield Development. It has recently closed to guests, but houses a local convenience store which is open daily until late.
On Esplanade Road there is a development of Luxury Apartments & Signature Bistro currently underway.
As with all items provided to make Pentire House comfortable, coat hangers are replenished each year (unfortunately, some of our clients do forget to leave them behind). Our housekeeper has been notified to re-stock asap.
Guests are currently requested to bring their own bath towels, however in response to customer comments these will be provided free of charge from Oct 2009. All other linen - bed linen, hand towels, bathmats & kitchen linen is provided as standard.

Fine time in Pentire May 2009

This property lived up to our expectations. It was very modern,clean, tidy and well maintained. We found nothing wanting from the property, and enjoyed the sun trap of a garden. The flowers and biscuits were a nice welcoming touch.

The beach was in easy reach 10 minutes away by footpath, and Newquay was also within easy walking distance, although we didn't like the town. Fistral beach is beautiful and our 4 year old son loved playing in the sand. We also liked Crantock beach, although watch out for the £3.50 a day parking charge!

We found two nice restaurants close by - Fistral Blu and Lewinnick Lodge (both have their own websites if you want more information).

Fistral beach is across the road from Pentire House - its approx. 100m to the beach steps.
The town beaches are approx 5-10 mins walk and Crantock Beach is approx 10-15 mins walk.

Bliss!

Pentire House offered everything we needed and more! Luxury accommodation, Fistral Beach across the road, Local Beaches, Restaurants, Attractions, Cliff Walks, Shops within walking distance and the sun trap garden for a peaceful tan and BBQs.

There is so much to do in Newquay - surfing, kitesurfing, bodyboarding,coasteering, boating, fishing, zoo, splashpark, acquarium - the list just goes on... but once we arrived, we immediately felt so relaxed, we did absolutely nothing but park the car, enjoyed long days on the beach and BBQs on the deck in the evening. It was the best holiday we've been on in a long time where we felt we'd actually had a REAL holiday - hassle free, enjoyable, relaxing, with only our own agenda to follow. It was bliss.

Booking was quick and easy. We were wary of not booking via an Agent, but the owners were very friendly and helpful and put us at ease straight away; especially when they mentioned the property had a 5 Star Cleaning service (I'm quite fussy!) and a Housekeeper nearby if we had any problems - which, by the way, made all the difference when we managed to lose the house key! After contacting the owners, the Housekeeper appeared within the hour and replaced it - no fuss, no bother, just happy to help us get on with our holiday as quickly as possible. We assumed we'd be charged for the call-out/lost key, as well as a few necessary phone calls that we made during our stay - but what was really nice, was that it wasn't even mentioned and the Bond was returned in full.
The service in that respect was, as the cottage itself - 5 Star with a Smile!

Weather was great for early May, not mega hot, but warm enough for t-shirts & shorts - and even a bikini in the enclosed garden - it really is a suntrap! Very useful to have the recliners/sunloungers as well as table/chairs.

We usually go abroad for the weather, but as soon as we started looking at 09 brochures and thinking flights/ transfers/travelling with the children, we got stressed as opposed to excited. Then we remembered what a blissful time we had last year and decided to return to Pentire House again this year. The only thing we're going to do differently is to try and fit a body boarding lesson in... somewhere inbetween the lazy days of beach and BBQs!
