Attached to a substantial Georgian coach house, Glebe Hall Cottages are situated on the edge of the lovely, peaceful village of Mawgan, near Helston, in the South West of Cornwall. Close to the picturesque tidal creeks of the Helford River, the properties are set in two acres of secluded south facing terraced gardens bordered by farmland and the thickly wooded grounds of the historic Trelowarren Estate. Whether you choose to laze beside the heated pool (open May to September) or visit over 20 beautiful gardens - Glendurgan, Lost Grdens of Heligan, Trebah, Trevarno, Trelissick etc., walk the wonderful coastal paths or enjoy water sports on the nearby beaches and coves - this area of Cornwall has everything.

Clipper sleeps six. It has three bedrooms - one double, one twin with wash basin ('Zip n Link' beds can be joined to make Super King), one with bunk beds. Standard facilities in all four cottages also include: Fully fitted kitchen, equipped with Oven, Hob, Microwave, Dishwasher, Fridge and kettle; Breakfast/Dining area with CD/Radio; Spacious lounge with TV with Freeview and VCR; Newly fitted bathroom with electric shower; Night storage and convector heaters; Bed linen, towels and tea towels. Access to heated outdoor swimming pool (Mid May - End September) - Children must be supervised; Access to Children's play area with Trampoline and 'Jungle Gym' with swings, slide and climbing tower; Access to communal laundry facility and games room.

Mawgan is on the 'Lizard' peninsula in South West Cornwall. It lies within the Cornish Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty yet provides easy access to the main Cornish towns of Helston, Falmouth, St Ives, Penzance and the capital city of Truro. We are surrounded by many beautiful gardens, i.e. The Lost Gardens of Heligan, The Eden Project, Trebah, and Trevarno to name but a few, there are also many places of historic importance, all of which are within an hour's drive. The beautiful beaches and coves are all a stones throw away. In May you can come and enjoy Helston Towns traditional 'Flora Day' celebrations which date back hundreds of years. October half term 2008

We stayed at Glebe Hall Cottages during the October Half Term holiday and were very pleasantly surprised when we arrived at Clipper Cottage after a long 6-hour journey. Our two young children settled in very quickly to their lovely bedrooms, and had great fun exploring the play area and games room. The owners were fantastic, they were able to provide stairgates and other baby-related items to make our stay worry-free. The kitchen is very well-equipped, we even cooked a roast dinner on Sunday! Our weather was not so kind unfortunately, but the cottage had plenty of space to dry out wet clothes, and store muddy boots. I would definitely recommend Glebe Hall Cottages to families with young children. The accommodation is very secure with gated access to the pool and car-parking areas which means children can play safely in the courtyard.
We visited many places during our stay, and would recommend Goonhilly, Treasure Park, the Maritime Museum at Falmouth and Dairyland (although that was further away than we thought and not ideal for a rainy day).
Do visit the local farm shop, it's well worth it for some unusual food items; and Helston is close by (about 10 minutes in the car); great for picking up the food essentials with a Somerfield, Tescos and Lidl.

Wondeful hosts, ideal to expore south Cornwall.

The hosts, Ali and Julian are extremely hospitable, friendly and helpful in giving ideas on what to do and explore in the area.

This is a wonderful central location from which to explore the south of Cornwall. Most attractions such as the absolutely amazing Trebah garden, St Michaels Mount, St Ives and many more, are within a short drive from the cottage, and attractions such as the Eden Project is only an hour's drive away.

Julian and Ali gladly lent us many useful baby items, such as a highchair, cot, toys etc which would have been difficult to take along on holiday.

I would have liked to make us of the lovely swimming area, but unfortunately the weather did not play along.

We had a wonderful time staying there.

One point to keep in mind however, is that the cottage is however not ideal for people with mobility problems since it is on three levels, and there are quite a few steps to climb.

Well laid-out accommodation over 3 floors. Recommend basement room for parents. Owners have done a great job with these cottages, with well thought-out shared areas providing a safe play environment for our young family.
